Position Summary: The Manager of Fire Operations is responsible for providing overall direction and support for the Design Services Team. In addition, this position plays an integral role in all facets of Fire business for the company. The Manager of Fire Operations is responsible for the successful integration of Fire Centralization initiatives across the organization along with continued optimization of the Fire Process in total. This role serves as the primary liaison between Sales, Operations and Fire support teams, ensuring processes, tools, and resources are effectively communicated, adopted, and utilized.
The position leads Fire Sales training and onboarding programs, supports implementation of new workflows and technologies, and helps improve collaboration between Sales, Design, and Operations. The Manager of Fire Operations works closely with business leaders to ensure consistent execution of processes while identifying opportunities to improve user adoption and overall effectiveness.
Job Duties:
Communication & Coordination
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Operations and Fire support teams.
- Communicate process updates, workflow changes, and organizational initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration between Sales, Design Services, and Operations.
- Gather and share feedback to improve communication and process effectiveness.
Training & Development
- Provide direction to the Design Services leaders for ongoing training needs in the FAD
origination. - Assist in leading Fire Sales onboarding and training programs for all new sales reps and
ongoing and advanced training for existing reps - Reviewing Plans, collecting relevant information to properly bid fire projects, etc.
- Partner with Training to Develop and maintain training materials and resources.
- Track training participation and effectiveness.
- Provide reporting and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
- Support Design managers in identifying and addressing development needs for sales
- Process Adoption & Implementation
- Assist teams in understanding and utilizing new workflows.
- Monitor process adoption and identify areas requiring additional support
- Promote consistency across regions and departments.
Success Measurements
- Training participation and completion rates
- Improvement in Sales-to-Design handoffs
- Stakeholder, Branch and Sales satisfaction and engagement
- Provide overall leadership for the Design Services Organization and be active in overall Fire
support for the company. - Provide leadership and direction for Design Workflow Manager and Design Services Manager.
- Collaborate and Communicate with the greater organization on all essential functions of Fire Sales, Design and Support.
- Travel to branches and corporate to provide direct support when needed.
- All other miscellaneous projects and other duties assigned.
- Determine training priorities and development plans to improve Fire sales effectiveness.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance collaboration between Sales, Design Services, and Operations.
- Identify adoption challenges and establish action plans to increase utilization of tools and
workflows. - Prioritize communication strategies to support organizational initiatives and process changes.
- Escalate operational, process, or resource concerns leadership with recommended solutions.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years post-high school education required.
- Diploma from a 2-year post-high school institution preferred.
- Understands our Fire process from Sales to Install completion.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to Develop and Implement processes and workflows.
- Understanding of the WIP process
- Must have strong analytical skills.
- Valid Driver's License required
- Minimum 10 years of management experience, including leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Proven Sales Management experience with a track record of coaching, training, and developing sales professionals.
- NICET Certification required
- Strong Fire Alarm Design experience with knowledge of codes, regulations, estimating, and
project lifecycle management. - Proficiency in P&L analysis, business reporting, and performance measurement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption across multiple departments and geographic regions.
- Creation of Excel spreadsheets by use of formula, pivot tables, etc.
- Microsoft application
- Workflow Software - Jira or experience of any kind - preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office
equipment. - Ability to speak and hear clearly to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in virtual meetings.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move up to 10
pounds (e.g., files, office supplies). - Visual acuity to read and produce documents, spreadsheets, and emails on screen and in hard copy.
- Standard office environment with controlled climate and minimal noise levels.
- Regular working hours, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours during peak periods or project deadlines.
- Work may involve interacting with others in person or virtually across departments and locations.
