At Daniel Defense, Only the Best Build the Best…
Daniel Defense engineers and manufactures the world’s finest weapon systems and accessories. Our mission, Honor God. Defend Freedom (R), is accomplished by serving customers and providing top-quality solutions to our military, law enforcement, and civilian customers seeking premium firearms for home defense, hunting, and sport shooting.
The Manager of Pricing Excellence & Commercial Analytics is a newly created role responsible for strengthening how Daniel Defense approaches pricing, product costing, and customer tier strategy across the portfolio. This role partners with New Product Development and Operations on cost initiatives that support company margin objectives, and reviews the pricing structures used across our e-Commerce, MIL-LE, and Commercial customer channels to ensure they remain competitive and advantageous.
Beyond pricing and costing, this role services as a broader strategic financial analytics resource to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team, supporting a range of ad hoc strategic initiatives – including financial analysis in support of potential M&A, investment, or business development opportunities, such as assessing how a target company’s product lines, cost structure, and margin profile compare to our own. The ideal candidate is comfortable building rigorous financial models and executive-ready analysis across a variety of strategic questions, not solely pricing, and can move fluidly between recurring commercial analytics and one-off strategic projects.
Essential Functions:
Pricing Strategy & MSRP Optimization
- Evaluate pricing across the product portfolio relative to brand positioning and market benchmarks.
- Develop pricing models and recommendations to inform go-to-market pricing decisions.
- Build business cases and executive materials to support pricing decisions, quantifying financial impact.
Product Costing & Margin Improvement

- Build costing and margin-bridge models to evaluate product-level profitability.
- Develop recommendations, including cost-reduction or portfolio actions, where product margin does not meet company targets.
Product Portfolio Analysis
- Maintain an ongoing view of portfolio margin health and pricing/cost positioning by product and category.
- Provide recommendations on the financial performance of the product portfolio to support strategic decision-making.
Customer Tier & Channel Pricing Strategy
- Evaluate pricing tiers and discount structures across e-Commerce, MIL-LE, and Commercial channels.
- Design pricing and tier frameworks that balance customer value with company margin objectives.
- Model the financial impact of proposed channel or tier changes.
Strategic Financial Analysis & Executive
- Serve as a financial analytics resource to the Director of FP&A on ad hoc strategic initiatives, including evaluating potential M&A, investment, or business development opportunities – such as assessing a target company’s product lines, cost structure, and margin profile relative to Daniel Defense’s own.
- Prepare and present financial analyses and business cases to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models supporting a range of strategic and commercial finance initiatives.
- Translate complex financial analysis into clear, decision-ready recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
