Manager of Sales Training

Location: Little Rock, AR | Full-Time

Reports to: Lauren Shurtleff, Director of Sales – Training

The Manager of Sales Training will be responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering engaging training experiences to our largest outside sales channel. This role is ideal for someone with a background in education or sales training who is enthusiastic about inspiring others, creating impactful content, and managing large-scale programs with confidence and precision. This individual will play a critical role in equipping new hires with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed.


In this role, you will work closely with sales leadership, support our growing team of sales professionals, and continuously evolve our training programs to drive measurable performance outcomes. This is a high-impact position that requires creativity, poise, and a deep understanding of how people learn best.


The ideal candidate is an engaging communicator, a strategic thinker, and a natural leader—capable of commanding a room of 40–75 participants with professionalism and energy. Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive, this person takes strong ownership of their work, anticipates needs, and drives priorities forward. They excel at managing multiple initiatives independently, maintaining attention to detail, and consistently delivering high-quality results against firm, fast-moving deadlines. With a passion for education, content creation, and process improvement, they thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring creative, modern training solutions to life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own all content creation, delivery, and evolution of our Sales Pre-Training, Basic Training, and post-Basic Training curriculum
  • Lead 10+ annual Basic Sales Training sessions for all new hires within our largest outside sales channel
  • Continuously update and refine training materials in collaboration with sales leadership
  • Coordinate logistics for training programs, including new hire rosters, materials, meeting spaces, hotel coordination, and guest speakers
  • Assign and manage coaching relationships for each Basic Training class
  • Maintain and organize training resources via our shared drive
  • Host virtual training sessions as needed based on program growth
  • Collect, analyze, and report on training performance metrics to enhance program impact
  • Model and promote Priority1’s culture and core values in all training environments
  • Travel domestically as required to support regional training initiatives
  • Regular, reliable in-person attendance
  • Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Required experience – minimum 1 year in a freight sales role or background in education or teaching
  • Demonstrated success in creating engaging training content and delivering presentations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable leading large groups and facilitating discussions
  • Skilled in managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Professional, energetic presence and excellent interpersonal communication
  • Calm and resourceful under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $80,000 base plus commissions
