Reporting to the Director of Operations-Teens & Workforce Readiness, this position will lead the daily operations of teen programming at the Main Branch location, while supporting the expansion of locations that serve youth between 6th-12th grades. The Teen Manager supervises (5) special positions dedicated to teen services across middle school and high school programming, and plays a critical role in leading impactful, engaging youth programming.


Essential Functions of the Position:


This position is a blend of program leadership that supports the hiring, training, and supervision of staff, and guides program management making data informed decisions.


  • Oversee daily operations of tween and teen programming at the Main Branch Club, including leadership of Lincoln Middle School, Paul Revere, and Santa Monica Highschool club experiences.
  • Serve as an expert with Youth of the Year, Jr. Youth of the Year, Torch Club, National Fine Arts contests, and Keystone.
  • Guide and model positive youth development for staff working with older youth. This includes age-appropriate communications, use of technology, engagement, and skill building aligned with SMBGC strategy for teens.
  • Host team meetings, guide staff supervision, performance management, and staff development.
  • Develop and implement program schedules that engage the teen population.
  • Lead and audit safety protocols and procedures for Main Branch.
  • Build community and connection through collaboration with program partners, school partners, and community members.
  • Lead parent engagement and customer service.
  • Partner with Director of Operations for Teens, and Impact & Evaluation to evaluate program effectiveness and impact. This role will partner with other members of the senior leadership to implement grants and partnerships.
  • Serve as a lead for key grants that support school operations for expanded learning opportunities.
  • Support strategy and innovation by leveraging tools like My Club Hub, youth surveys, BGCA curriculum and training.

Summary

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Approximate Schedule: Year-round, Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm with occasional evening and weekend hours for special events. Hours may fluctuate to accommodate business needs. This is an in-person role only.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
