Manager, Office and Project Operations - Kenya
Overall Position Purpose
The Manager, Office and Project Operations - Kenya is responsible for leading in-country office operations, program and project management, and administrative infrastructure that advance Inteleos’ mission of promoting equitable and quality healthcare in Kenya. This role will manage the delivery, budgeting, compliance, and reporting of maternal and fetal health initiatives, including ultrasound training and certification programs. This position is central to ensuring the operational and financial sustainability of the Inteleos Africa office and to supporting healthcare workforce development programs on the ground. The Manager, Office and Project Operations - Kenya will promote and support the Inteleos culture of inclusivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Support execution of Inteleos Africa’s strategic direction in Kenya by managing the operational, administrative, and project infrastructure underpinning the pillars of Quality, Agency, and Access;
- Coordinate implementation logistics for career development and entrepreneurship programs for healthcare workers, including ultrasound training and certification, in partnership with the Kenyan Ministry of Health and academic institutions;
- Oversee day-to-day project delivery of high-impact training and certification programs, ensuring timelines, resources, and quality standards are met;
- Manage local operations including resources, staffing, budgeting, compliance, and reporting;
- Monitor program impact and prepare detailed progress reports for Inteleos leadership and strategic partners;
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability of in-country operations;
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks and develop mitigation plans;
- Ensure adherence to Kenyan laws and regulations, as well as Inteleos’ ethical and quality assurance standards;
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability across local staff, vendors, and contributors;
- Provide onboarding and support for local hires or consultants as the Kenya office scales; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Environment
- Works under the guidance of the Director, Partnership and Growth - Kenya, with latitude in determining operational work objectives.
- Makes decisions of moderate to considerable complexity on operational, administrative, and project matters, often in ambiguous contexts. Decisions have short- and medium-term impact on office operations and program delivery.
- Incumbent has formal supervisory responsibility for administrative and project staff and/or external vendors and consultants.
Work Environment
The incumbent will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, with regular travel throughout the country and occasional international travel. The incumbent will work at a desk in an office environment or an approved remote location. The role may require evening or weekend work. There are minimal requirements to lift or move equipment.
