About the role
HealthFitness is looking for an on-call Manager on Duty at the Advocate Condell Centre Club, managed by HealthFitness in Libertyville, IL!
In this position, you'll help manage the fitness center and you will serve as the acting manager. You will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety.
Serve as manager on duty and be a part of a collaborative team assisting with the facility oversight alongside the Management Team. At times, serves as acting manager, and will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety including shift accountability.Key Accountabilities
Helps with all member service desk administration and processes including phones, membership enrollments, and greeting, checking in, and assisting customers. Provides program information services and membership information. Provides oversite of and back-up coverage for all positions, including lifeguards.
Hourly facility walk-thru rounds to assess safety and cleanliness. Periodic inventory checks of recreation, concessions, and proshop equipment and merchandise.
Efficiently responds to client and participant requests, comments, or concerns and brings issues to a timely and appropriate resolution. In an emergency, will lead/manage incidents and complete incident reports as needed.
Maintains and updates participant and facility policies as appropriate. Educates participants on policies and procedures.
Opening and closing duties depending on shift hours.
Participates in internal programs, special events, and membership drives. Collects membership fees and performs related recordkeeping.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
Minimum Requirements
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of in-person customer service experience.
Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.
Experience with facility operations and staff supervision ideally in a fitness and/or aquatic facility.
Hands on experience with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of basic facility equipment, fitness equipment, and/or pool equipment.
Strong interpersonal and accountability skills.
Basic computer and point of sale systems knowledge.
Preferred Requirements
2+ years related industry experience with at least 1-year supervisory experience.
