Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily marine and shipyard operations, manpower deployment, client coordination, and project execution. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations at marine and shipyard project sites.
• Plan and deploy manpower according to project requirements and work schedules.
• Supervise workers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Monitor worker attendance, productivity, discipline, and performance.
• Coordinate with shipyard clients, main contractors, project managers, and site representatives.
• Attend client meetings and maintain good working relationships with customers.
• Understand project scopes, work orders, specifications, and client requirements.
• Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed within agreed timelines.
• Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, materials, and transportation required for projects.
• Resolve site and manpower-related issues promptly.
• Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure all workers follow shipyard safety rules, company procedures, and applicable Singapore regulations.
• Coordinate with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
• Prepare manpower deployment plans, daily/weekly progress reports, and operational reports.
• Monitor project costs and assist management in controlling operational expenses.
• Coordinate with HR and administration regarding worker-related matters, including work permits, training, certifications, and deployment.
• Liaise with shipyard departments for site access, work permits, inspections, and other operational requirements.
• Identify operational problems and implement effective solutions.
• Support management in business development, tender preparation, quotations, and new project opportunities when required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management in the marine, shipyard, offshore, or construction industry.
• Strong experience in worker/manpower management and client management.
• Good knowledge of shipyard operations and project coordination.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and manpower requirements simultaneously.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with Singapore shipyard safety requirements and MOM regulations.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.
