Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Manager, Pharmacy Clinical, you will facilitate the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems promoting desirable patient outcomes through safe, cost-effective drug therapies, upholding pharmacy ethics and hospital objectives.

Every day you will serve as a professional practice leader, educator, and mentor, functioning as a clinical specialist within the pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams. You will also manage operations, logistics, finance, safety, and risk management for the department.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical pharmacy expertise, strong leadership and mentorship skills, a deep understanding of hospital operations and financial management, and the ability to drive safe, cost-effective drug therapy and uphold ethical standards.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert responsible for all day-to-day activities of a clinical pharmacist.
  • Develops competencies of their clinical teams and enhances clinical programs to care for patients at their facility.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities, serving as a role model, possessing extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical preparations and drug therapy, modeling Core Values, and committing to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Possesses training in clinical protocols/guidelines, EHR utilization, drug information resources, parenteral nutrition, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation, pharmacy automation, and computer applications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to precept residents’ learning experiences, encompassing clinical teaching roles, performance assessment, and an established, active, ongoing practice.
  • Possesses personal characteristics including strong communication, initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, cooperation, motivational ability, and a commitment to continuing education.

Job Requirements

  • Required

    • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or PharmD
    • Licensed Pharmacist
    • Three (3) years as a clinical pharmacist
    • Experience in formulary management (i.e., P&T, MUE, and ADR reporting programs)
    • Teaching experience such as that obtained during a Pharm.D., residency program, BCPS or other advanced pharmacy certification
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams; management and communication skills
    • Education or experience in utilizing continuous quality improvement methods, employee relations, team coaching, and self-directed work teams
