Position Summary
Lead the planning, programming, and pre-construction phases of capital expenditure projects to ensure projects are well-defined, feasible, and aligned with organizational priorities. Oversee development of project scope, budgets, schedules, and documentation to support successful execution. Coordinate planning efforts across stakeholders, ensuring projects are properly scoped, analyzed, and approved prior to implementation. Manage Planning staff. Promotes the culture of 'One 'Ohana Sharing Aloha' with PCC staff, employees, and the community.
What You'll Do
- Leads the programming and planning of capital expenditure projects, including defining project scope, requirements, and objectives.
- Works with engineers, architects, designers, other staff, and stakeholders to develop project scopes, conceptual designs, and planning documents.
- Confers with users, project advocates, and PCC leadership to determine project requirements, priorities, and special considerations.
- Prepares preliminary project budgets and schedules.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Know construction processes and planning methodologies.
- Have an understanding of Hawaii building codes and OSHA standards.
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and oral communications
- Read blueprints and develop cost estimates.
- Able to work collaboratively and manage multiple efforts.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of work experience in project planning or pre-construction activities, or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
- 1 year minimum managing or supervising direct subordinate staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Planning, or related field.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

- Adhere to the Polynesian Cultural Center’s Code of Religious Conduct.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
