Manager, PR
Purpose of the job
Portraying the company as a leader in telecommunication business, as Egypt's number one operator in terms of products, services, offerings, network as well as corporate citizenship. Managing the hearts and minds of Egyptians in this direction.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Set Orange's PR strategy, plan the yearly activities based on strategy and prepare the budget based on the plan.
2. Work with management to liaise and address foreseen changes in market and in the strategy.
3. Revisit the policies and processes necessary for the plan to assess if any changes are needed and arrange, influence the changes and negotiate based on the budget the prices of the media.
4. Manage lobby media to shape the public opinion on matters that are important to the company, industry, and market.
5. Archive and monitor daily press for trends, market changes, and competition standards.
6. Plan and manage the execution of all proactive and reactive PR activities on all key business activities, business issues, and reputation-related initiatives. Manage Orange in-house PR agency, plan, manage and personally write the articles/press releases. Ensure constant interaction with the media in such a manner that enables a trusting and respectful relationship allowing for constant positive exposure for Orange in the media.
7. Manage a variety of media loyalty programs that keep the media continuously updated, continually involved, and always trusting. Create constantly, foster and nurture pro-Orange and pro-industry lobbies within the public opinion circles, so that the viewpoint is made clear. Ensure a continuous flow of information and corporate stories and propose them to be included in corporate PR campaigns. Direct journalist briefings and make sure that the PR team is ready and effectively interfacing with the media 7 days a week.
8. Come up with recommended lines of reply (if needed) and then prepare responses (if required) to any unfavorable publicity, rumors, adverse stories that may be published against Orange. Handle corporate relations with the government entities as well as business enterprises of large companies.
People management
1. Interview and select direct reports and validate hiring decisions for the department.
2. Provide coaching and request needed training for direct reports ensuring continuous individual development.
3. Ensure a healthy working environment for the department employees through focusing on team building and motivation initiatives.
4. Conduct regular performance and competency evaluations for direct reports while delivering constant constructive feedback for higher achievements and further development.
5. Follow up on team members' attendance, timesheets, and leaves.
Job specification
Education
Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in the same function.
