About the Role

SMFM is seeking a Manager, Public Health Initiatives & Quality Improvement in Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy, to lead public health, education, and quality improvement programs focused on hypertension care during pregnancy and postpartum. This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.

What You’ll Do

Quality Improvement Academy & Clinical Implementation

• Lead the design and implementation of a Hypertension in Pregnancy Quality Improvement Academy, including its workplan, learning objectives, programming, expert contributions, participant communications, measures/metrics, and evaluation.

• Lead promotion, application and selection activities; recruit and engage clinical sites and support their progress throughout the program.

• Lead an implementation cohort focused on evidence-based changes in hypertension care during pregnancy and postpartum. Oversee site recruitment, develop and facilitate in-depth focus groups, coordinate technical assistance, and monitor participant needs and progress.

• Serve as program lead and primary contact for Academy and cohort meeting. Establish meeting goals, agendas, learning objectives, speaker plans, and follow-up activities; partner with the meetings team on logistics and guide Coordinator support.

Clinical Education & Resource Development

• Lead assigned educational tools, publications, and clinical implementation resources from outline through expert review and completion, defining their purpose, audience, clinical questions, and content requirements.

• Contribute to postpartum hypertension consensus work led by another Manager through clinical question development, literature searches and evidence review, expert feedback, recommendation development, and document production.

• Design assigned educational sessions, including a symposium at the SMFM Pregnancy Meeting, by setting goals and learning objectives, building agendas, and guiding speaker content for the intended audience.

• Partner with SMFM’s education team on related courses by coordinating subject matter expert contributions, reviewing scientific content, and exploring opportunities to reach relevant medical societies and certifying bodies.

• Recommend improvements and opportunities to expand the reach and impact of SMFM’s hypertensive disorders of pregnancy programming.

• Travel domestically to lead program meetings and represent SMFM at relevant events, as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
