The team closely supports the policy divisions’ needs for data-driven insights for policy and programme formulation.

We are looking for an intellectually curious and independent researcher who has demonstrated the ability to take ownership of research projects, from framing research questions, through research design and quantitative analysis, to communicating insights and implications incisively. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with a keen interest in driving the growth of Singapore’s digital economy and digital society.

  • Lead research and analytical projects to analyse current and emerging issues relating to Singapore’s digital economy as well as to evaluate the economic and social impact of IMDA’s policies.
  • Work closely with policy divisions to understand their policy objectives, identify research opportunities, and sharpen analytical problem statements.
  • Apply rigorous quantitative methods, including econometric and data science techniques, to analyse administrative, survey and unconventional datasets and derive robust insights.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear narratives and insights for diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Contribute to strengthening research standards and analytical capabilities within the broader organisation.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Background in Economics, Data Science or a closely related quantitative disciple.
  • 4-8 years of experience in economic research, quantitative policy research or applied data analytics.
  • Strong research capabilities, including the ability to independently formulate relevant research questions, apply analytical frameworks, select appropriate quantitative methods.
  • Ability to work effectively across disciplines and engage stakeholders to shape research questions and deliver policy-relevant findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as Python and R, as well as in data visualisation techniques and tools such as Tableau.

Position will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
