Manager - Security Operations

Job Purpose

The Job role involves to lead and manage the Firewall operation and L1/L2 support of Firewall and URL filtering operations on 24*7 basis. Timely intervention to prevent major Incidents from happening, and to minimize the impact of Incidents that cannot be prevented. Recover the platform to minimum operational level within the organization defined RPO. The Job involves coordination with cross functional team/OEM and vendor partners.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

His/her responsibility involves preventing problems and resulting incidents from happening, to eliminate recurring incidents, and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.

• Should be willing to do 24*7 Shift.
• Manage, configure, and support Firewall environments.
• Identify the Root Cause of recurring issues and major incidents and to drive the implementation of correction/corrective action with relevant stake holders/OEM on timely manner.
• Change Management
• Validate change request.
• Ensure to close CR request within SLA.
• Critical Incident Handling –
• Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security alerts.
• Handle all critical incidents occurred in Firewall Operations and escalate on timely manner to SME.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of security incidents and service requests ensuring strict adherence to defined SLAs.
• System Administration-
• Routine Health check-up.
• Support security audits, vulnerability remediation.
• Fault Management-
• Co-ordination of VA and patch update.
• Vendor Co-ordination and TAC Support
• Handle BAU troubleshooting for new connectivity.
• Documentation and Training -
• Documentation of all Firewall MOP, Incidents and activity.
• All the relevant details of the problem must be recorded so that a full historic record exists and tickets are raised with OEM/Vendor partners.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

Hands on experience in Ticketing tool like HPSM.

Hands on experience in Telecom, Firewalls, Fortinet, Nokia, CISCO.

Good understanding of network security concepts (Policies, IPS/IDS, NAT, UTM).

Displays leadership qualities, takes ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Working knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP basics, static & dynamic routing, IP Protocols).

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Able to co-ordination with Team member.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

Strong expertise in FortiGate Firewalls (policies, NAT, UTM features).

Solid experience with Cisco ASA firewall configuration and troubleshooting.

Exposure to NOC operations, SIEM tools, or security compliance frameworks.

Bachelors – IT, Electronics and Communication or equivalent graduate.

Years of Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in Network Security / Firewall Operations.
