Manager, Social Services
What You'll Do:
The Manager, Social Services manages the efficient functioning for the assessment, admission, resource activation, and discharge planning on the observation and inpatient units.
This position works in collaboration with the leadership team to ensure the highest quality service provision to the patients. This position works with community stakeholders to optimize the referral and resource process for patients. This position will provide clinical oversight to staff members that provide behavioral health services to patients.
- Manage social services (Case Managers) staffing for the 24/7 functioning of the crisis and inpatient units. Provides coverage for a shift and/or unit when pool staff cannot be utilized.
- Provides the required clinical supervision to staff providing behavioral health services to individuals.
- May provide clinical supervision to unlicensed or master’s level licensed employees in the company who are pursuing licensure, as needed, and contributes to their clinical and professional development.
- Develops, implements, and maintains appropriate clinical programming and delivery of services in collaboration with Medical/Clinical Leadership.
- Maintains a high quality, service-oriented clinical and operational team through hiring, training, planning, and development of social services staff.
- Actively participates in program compliance monitoring and works to ensure both quality and clinical compliance standards are met.
- Monitors flow through the inpatient and observation units and works with facility leadership and/or community partners when internal or external barriers to patient movement or discharge are identified.
- Directly supervises crisis case managers and provides leadership and guidance to any direct service staff to ensure quality provision of services.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Master’s Degree in a behavioral health related field
- Current licensure by Virginia Board of Behavioral Health (LMSW, or LAC) with ability to attain independent licensure within 180 days of hire
- 5 years of behavioral health or relevant experience
- 1 year of supervisory or management experience

- State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
- Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
- Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search
It would be great if you had:
- Current licensure by Virginia Board of Behavioral Health (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) and identified as a Clinical Supervisor
- Prior experience providing crisis services and/or working in a psychiatric facility
