Manager, Software Engineering
About the Position:
Cologix is searching for a Software Engineering Manager to join the Corporate Systems development group, overseeing Salesforce and MuleSoft engineering. In this position you will lead a team of developers who implement and maintain customizations and integrations for these essential business platforms. The ideal candidate has a passion for quality software engineering, an eye for recommending and developing systems improvements, and a drive for evaluating new technologies and enhancements for enterprise-scale CRM and ETL software.
What you do daily:
- Lead your team of developers, ensuring that they have the information, connections, tools, and attention needed to remain unblocked and on track to deliver quality solutions
- Facilitate regular team ceremonies, status meetings, and planning discussions to drive project delivery and completion. Prioritize team workloads and adjust plans as new information and requests arise
- Provide input and technical expertise during design and development phases of the SDLC, including integration architecture, data management best practices, scalability, and future-state platform modernization initiatives
- Triage and prioritize escalated platforms, data integration, and data quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact
- Provide project status updates, trends, and reporting to stakeholders
- Partner with project stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of project milestones
- Validate project scope and set accurate project milestones
- Provide program management of major initiatives
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for assigned projects
- Lead development discussions with Business Units, stakeholders, and your team to finalize expected deliverables
- Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
- Analyze impact of issues and solutions to other areas of the company
- Ensure application, integration, data quality, and platform issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner
- Identify and communicate required or necessary strategy, project, or solution changes to your development team
- Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
- Coordinate the launch of software with supporting teams (e.g. Support, Sales, Business Intelligence), including any required release scheduling, announcements, documentation, training, etc. to ensure the successful adoption of solutions from your team
- Ensure enforcement of software engineering quality and compliance standards, and provide evidence to related controls during team audits
- Gather customer and stakeholder feedback and stay informed on emerging technologies in CRM, integration, enterprise data management, analytics, and cloud platforms to help guide future roadmap decisions
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Administration, IT, Business Information Systems, or related field strongly preferred
- 5+ years as a previous individual contributor in a Sr Engineering, Sr Product Management, or equivalent role
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience in software, IT, or equivalent technical environment
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to deliver time-sensitive projects by working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading or supporting enterprise-scale CRM, integration, and ETL solutions, with direct Salesforce and MuleSoft experience preferred
- Exposure to enterprise data platforms, analytics platforms, data integration solutions, or data warehousing concepts a plus
- Familiarity with data management best practices, including data quality, governance, and reporting concepts
- PMP/Scrum certification is a plus
