Manager, Solutions Architect - CEUR
You will lead a distributed team of Solutions Architects across Central and Eastern Europe and set clear direction for technical sales execution. You will act as a player-coach on strategic opportunities, build executive relationships, and guide evaluations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements. You will coordinate with Sales, Channel, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Product Management, and global Solutions Architecture to deliver regional goals. You will manage planning, forecasting, resource allocation, performance indicators, hiring, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects across Central and Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom
- Partner on strategic opportunities, build executive relationships, and coach the team through complex sales cycles
- Guide technical evaluations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements
- Collaborate with Solutions Architecture, Sales, Channel, Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Product Management
- Manage dotted-line relationships with Channel Solutions Architects and subject matter experts
- Maintain workload planning, resource allocation, headcount planning, opportunity forecasting, and field execution
- Define and track team key performance indicators and communicate progress, risks, and priorities
- Hire, develop, and retain Solutions Architects while building a scalable regional organization
Requirements
- Experience managing technical teams in software or technology sales, pre-sales, consulting, or a related environment across Central Europe
- Background in solution architecture or comparable practical experience
- Experience developing, mentoring, and scaling Solutions Architecture practices or similar customer-facing technical organizations
- Communication and technical presentation skills
- Business acumen and judgment that balance technical and commercial outcomes
- Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Channel, Marketing, Enablement, and Product
- Experience building inclusive, high-performing teams and accountable operating practices in a distributed or remote environment
- Curiosity for AI and experience incorporating AI tools into daily work
- Ability and willingness to travel in line with business needs and GitLab travel policy
