Manager Sourcing Quality Food & Consumables

· Team Overview

Ø The Sourcing Quality team consists of colleagues located in multiple markets around the world, with responsibilities aligned to region-based exporting suppliers and global suppliers importing to the region.

Ø This team supports Food, Consumables and Health & Wellness. This specific role is for Packaged Food Quality and is based in Mexico, Location Mexico City.

Ø This role has responsibility for packaged food and consumables.

Ø The associate in this role will work on projects from the very beginning of an item lifecycle (a mere idea or concept) until it is in our stores and purchased by Walmart shoppers. This includes:

§ Vetting potential suppliers who can partner with Walmart to manufacture our item(s)

§ Collaborating with suppliers to confirm their quality programs to meet our standards

§ Partnering with suppliers and cross functional teams during commercialization

§ Working with our suppliers to maintain quality over the lifecycle of the item(s)

§ The opportunity to work with multiple market teams and build meaningful relationships with stakeholders across the globe.

· Primary responsibilities/accountabilities for this role

Ø Vetting potential suppliers to ensure they meet Walmart quality requirements.

Ø Onboarding new suppliers into Walmart quality systems and processes.

Ø Evaluating private brand items to confirm adherence to specifications.

Ø Partnering with suppliers when product issues occur, initiating CAPAs and working with suppliers to find resolution.

Ø This is a hands-on role. One day the associate may be reviewing supplier quality issues and the next day they could be visiting a supplier to tour facilities.

Entry Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field (science, agriculture or hospitality focused)

2. Quality Assurance Experience

3. Soft Skills: Can-do attitude, Team Player, Organization, Excellent Communication, appreciation of time zones and a flexible workday.

4. Experience working in Food or Consumable Manufacturing

5. Experience in packaged foods. For example: pantry dry goods, canned food, frozen food

6. CAPA Process Experience
