What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Public Affairs & The Sienna for Seniors Foundation, the Manager, Stakeholder Relations plays an important role in advancing Sienna Senior Living’s public affairs priorities while helping to grow the impact of the Sienna For Seniors Foundation.
This role will provide research, writing and coordination support for Sienna’s government and stakeholder relations activities, helping the organization effectively communicate its priorities to governments and other key stakeholders. The Manager, Stakeholder Relations also plays a vital role in the Sienna For Seniors Foundation, helping to manage its fundraising, grant-making, donor stewardship, team member giving and impact-reporting activities.
How You’ll Succeed:
- Monitor government and stakeholder developments and help identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities.
- Conduct research and analysis on public policy, legislation, regulations and government initiatives relevant to Sienna and the seniors’ living sector.
- Draft advocacy and government relations materials, including briefing notes, correspondence, presentations and other communications.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations and other materials used to communicate Sienna’s priorities to governments and stakeholders.
- Maintain and utilize Sienna’s stakeholder database to support effective and coordinated engagement with government, community and sector stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of senior leaders for meetings and engagements with elected officials, public servants and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the planning and execution of public affairs events and engagements, including government and stakeholder tours, visits, announcements and meetings.
- Work collaboratively with teams across Sienna to gather information and develop accurate, compelling materials in support of public affairs priorities.
- Provide administrative and project-management support for public affairs initiatives to help ensure commitments, follow-ups and deadlines are effectively managed.
- Play a key role in supporting the ongoing work and growth of the Sienna For Seniors Foundation.
- Coordinate the administration associated with the Foundation’s case for support and fundraising activities.
- Help manage relationships and communications with Foundation donors, including high-priority and high-value donors.
- Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgements, recognition, communications and ongoing engagement.
- Manage the administration of the Foundation’s call for grant applications.
- Coordinate the administration and disbursement of Foundation grants and maintain accurate records of funding commitments and payments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with charities and community organizations supported by the Foundation.
- Coordinate the collection of information from grant recipients and other partners to demonstrate and report on the impact of Foundation funding.
- Help develop compelling internal and external content that tells the story of the Sienna For Seniors Foundation, the organizations it supports and the impact being achieved.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for Sienna’s internal team member giving campaign, providing ongoing support to leaders, campaign champions and participating locations.
- Support fundraising and engagement initiatives associated with the team member giving campaign.
- Coordinate Foundation events and activities, working with internal teams, donors, charitable partners and other stakeholders as required.
- Maintain Foundation records, timelines, databases and other administrative systems to help ensure activities are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications or a related field.
- Previous experience within healthcare, long-term care, seniors housing, or other regulated sectors a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience researching, analyzing and communicating public policy, legislative and regulatory issues.
- Experience working with stakeholder, donor or customer relationship management databases.
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information and identify key implications, risks and opportunities.
- Strong presentation-development skills
- Exceptional organizational and project-management skills, with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams and functions.
- Sound judgment, discretion and professionalism when working with confidential information and high-priority stakeholders.
- Experience working with Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
What you need to know:
- The salary range for this position is: $80,839.00-$101,048,50
- This is an on-site position at our Shared Support office in Markham
