Manager, Strategy & Operations - Expansion (CA/MX/CL)
Walmart Manager, Strategy & Operations - Expansion (CA/MX/CL)
Position Overview
Join the Expansion team as a Manager, Strategy & Operations, and become part of the team helping sellers successfully grow beyond their home marketplace into Canada, Mexico, and Chile. We're looking for someone genuinely energized by cross-border e-commerce and the challenge of scaling a seller growth program across multiple markets at once.
This role partners closely with business teams to build the data foundation, sharpen the operating processes, and clear the cross-functional roadblocks that stand between a seller's first sign-up and sustained growth in a new market. You'll own end-to-end visibility into the seller expansion journey, from awareness and onboarding through post-launch growth, working hand-in-hand with Business Development (BD), Key Accounts (KA), Go-to-Market (GTM), and Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to identify what's slowing sellers down and fix it. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical instincts, real curiosity about how cross-border marketplaces work, and the persistence to follow a problem across multiple teams until it's resolved.
Primary Responsibilities
Seller Expansion Journey & Cross-Functional Partnership
• Own visibility into the end-to-end seller expansion journey across Canada, Mexico, and Chile, partnering with BD, KA, CP, GTM, and WFS to spot and resolve issues across marketing, onboarding, activation, and post-launch growth.
• Build and run the syncs, trackers, and escalation paths that keep seller launch issues moving toward resolution instead of quietly stalling.
• Dig into recurring friction points, including compliance gaps, fulfillment bottlenecks, and seller experience pain, and drive the process fixes that stop them from coming back.
Data & Performance Insight
• Build and maintain the dashboards and reporting infrastructure that give the team real-time visibility into seller activation, conversion, and post-launch performance across markets.
• Turn performance data and market signals into sharp, actionable insight that shapes team strategy and leadership decisions.
• Continuously evaluate what's working and what isn't, pulling in input from BD, KA, WFS, and seller-facing teams to keep the program sharp.
Process & Operating Excellence
• Continuously improve the team's operating processes and tools, raising the bar on efficiency and decision quality.
• Design scalable frameworks and KPIs that help the broader team track and improve seller outcomes over time.
• Partner directly with functional teams to turn ambiguous, half-formed business questions into clear, actionable plans.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• 5-8 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or cross-border trade, ideally within business operations, strategy, analytics, or program management.
• Strong understanding of cross-border commerce and seller lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in data analytics; hands-on experience with a BI tool such as Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel and analytical/modeling skills.
• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to produce executive-ready materials in both languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong stakeholder management and relationship-building ability across teams.
• A track record of driving alignment and results across cross-functional teams, without relying on direct authority.
• Sharp structured thinking, with real comfort operating in ambiguity and moving quickly on shifting priorities.
Success Profile
• Catch cross-team blockers early and keep them from piling up unresolved.
• Deliver dashboards and reports the team can trust and use without needing rework.
• Keep the team's operating processes and trackers running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
• Handle both planned analysis work and quick-turn requests without dropping either one.
