Manager, Strategy & Operations (Subscriptions) (KL & SG)
Job description: Manager, Strategy & Operations (Subscriptions)
Business unit: Muslim Pro (Subscriptions)
Reports to: C-suite
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment type: Full-time
About Muslim Pro
Muslim Pro is one of the world's most downloaded Muslim lifestyle apps, used by millions of Muslims across more than 190 countries for prayer times, Quran, and daily worship. Subscriptions are a core revenue line for the company, with a large existing base of paying subscribers worldwide and a major upgrade of the subscription product now underway.
The role
Company leadership has set the strategy for the next generation of Muslim Pro's subscription product: new plans, new pricing, and a stronger value proposition for paying subscribers. You are the point person who makes it happen. Leadership sets the direction and makes the key calls on plans, pricing, and timing. You will help shape the operational plan underneath those decisions and drive its execution across product, tech, marketing, and support, working closely with leadership day to day.
This is a cross-functional execution role. You will spend as much time with the Product and Tech teams as with commercial stakeholders, translating the subscription roadmap into shipped features, tested price points, and a smooth transition for existing subscribers. Your performance will be measured on how well the rollout is executed and the subscription revenue it delivers.
The right candidate wants real execution responsibility earlier in their career than a large company would give them, and is comfortable being accountable for outcomes rather than activity.
What you will do
- Run the rollout. Build and maintain the launch plan with company leadership: workstreams, owners, timelines, dependencies, and risks. Drive day-to-day execution against that plan, keep product, tech, marketing, support, and external partners moving on one schedule, and escalate early when something threatens the date.
- Execute pricing and packaging. Implement the pricing and plan structure decided by leadership across markets, set up and run in-app price testing, and bring the results back to leadership with a clear recommendation per market. Manage the mechanics of app store billing, plan changes, and promotional offers.
- Execute the subscriber transition. Deliver the migration of existing paying subscribers to the new lineup against the plan agreed with leadership: communications, timing, grandfathered terms, and guardrail monitoring. The bar is that current subscribers keep everything they have paid for and the transition protects both revenue and trust.
- Work hand in hand with Product and Tech. Write clear requirements, prioritise the subscription roadmap with the product team, test purchase and upgrade flows before release, and be the commercial voice in sprint planning. You do not need to code, but you need to be fluent enough that engineers respect your tickets.
- Improve retention and renewals. Run the renewal and payment recovery agenda agreed with leadership: renewal communications, failed payment handling, win-back offers, and churn analysis by market and plan. Build the reporting that tells leadership weekly where subscription revenue stands against plan.
- Coordinate partners where needed. Where the subscription roadmap involves third-party content or service partners, manage delivery timelines and integration readiness alongside the tech team.
What we are looking for
5 to 8 years of experience in subscription or consumer app monetization, growth, or strategy and operations roles
Track record of shipping monetization or pricing changes together with product and engineering teams, with examples of launches you ran end to end
Working knowledge of app store subscription mechanics on Google Play and the App Store: billing, plan changes, refunds, and store policies
Strong analytical skills: cohort, funnel, and churn analysis, and comfort building the model that supports a pricing decision
Strong program management: able to hold a complex cross-functional timeline together without formal authority over every team
Clear written communication, as this role prepares material read by senior leadership
Nice to have
Experience with pricing and packaging changes on a live subscriber base, including migrations or grandfathering
Experience with subscription tooling such as RevenueCat, Superwall, Adapty, or similar, and with in-app experimentation
Experience pricing for emerging markets, especially Southeast Asia
Familiarity with Muslim consumer behaviour, or demonstrated ability to learn a community's context quickly and respectfully
Working proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia
Why this role
You get a live subscription business with real scale, a leadership team that has already committed to the upgrade, and a seat at the table where pricing and product decisions are made. The scope is far larger than the title suggests. If you deliver this rollout, you will have run one of the most consequential monetization projects in the Muslim consumer app space.
