Manager - Supply Chain and Procurement, Custom Silicon
Posted Updated
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a strong people leader to build and manage the supply chain and procurement team responsible for a custom silicon portfolio. This team identifies, develops, and integrates innovative silicon technology to deliver the best operating, lowest-cost infrastructure in the world, working in close collaboration with internal and external cross-functional teams. It is central to how AWS's Supply Chain and Procurement organization achieves continuity of supply and cost goals on constrained, long-lead components.
The successful candidate is an experienced manager who thrives in ambiguity, holds a high bar for detail, and has built and developed teams in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You set direction, grow talent, and hold your team accountable for results. You bring excellent analytical judgment, program and people management experience, and the ability to lead executive-level reviews and communicate clearly at all levels of the company — in writing and in meetings.
The ideal candidate raises the bar on delivering the right supply at the right time, and builds a team that does the same. You are curious about the business end-to-end, coach your team to deep-dive into data, and have a track record of using data to influence decision makers and develop people who do likewise.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Hire, develop, and lead a team of supply and commodity managers covering the custom silicon portfolio, setting goals and owning performance
Define and deliver complex supply chain strategies for the portfolio as a key member of the AWS Infrastructure supply chain leadership team.
Own supplier strategy and commercial negotiation across the portfolio, including capacity commitments and long-term agreements, and represent your team in executive and partner reviews.
Direct your team's engagement with hardware teams and silicon partners, translating technical requirements into sourcing direction that strengthens our supply chain.
Guide the written recommendations and insights your team produces for key stakeholders to shape solution and sourcing design.
Manage a portfolio of projects simultaneously, setting priorities for the team through ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions.
Direct the design and maintenance of scalable, reliable analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics that drive key decisions and resource prioritization.
Build a high-performing, resilient team: develop bench strength, plan succession for critical commodities, and create an environment where people get results at an effective pace under tight deadlines.
