Role Overview

The Manager, Network Engineering Operations will lead the India-based network engineering teams responsible for enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, wireless infrastructure, store network operations, and network reliability engineering. This role combines strong technical leadership, operational governance, engineering execution, automation enablement, and people management. The ideal candidate is an experienced network engineering leader who brings deep enterprise networking expertise together with strong operational judgment, incident leadership capability, and a passion for developing high-performing engineering teams. This role requires a technically strong leader capable of actively participating in engineering escalations, architecture reviews, project governance, budgeting, network reliability initiatives, automation discussions, and major incident management while also driving team development and operational maturity. This role reports to the Director, Technology Solutions Infrastructure.

• Lead operational readiness activities supporting peak retail periods, store operations, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
• Partner with global engineering teams to ensure seamless operational coordination and support continuity.
• Leverage AI-assisted operational engineering practices to improve troubleshooting, monitoring analysis, operational reporting, and engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and scale high-performing network engineering operations teams supporting critical enterprise infrastructure and store network environments.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, load balancing, and network reliability operations.
• Conduct technical discussions involving operational risk, incident management, network reliability, observability, security, and operational readiness.
• Drive operational excellence across enterprise network platforms by improving reliability, responsiveness, monitoring effectiveness, scalability, automation, and engineering consistency.
• Lead operational governance processes including incident management, change management, escalation management, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Partner closely with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure engineering, architecture, and platform teams to improve operational reliability and engineering collaboration.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, operational leadership, and engineering best practices.
• Establish a strong culture of operational ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Lead operational readiness activities supporting peak retail periods, store operations, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
• Partner with global engineering teams to ensure seamless operational coordination and support continuity.
• Leverage AI-assisted operational engineering practices to improve troubleshooting, monitoring analysis, operational reporting, and engineering productivity.

Qualifications

• Strong experience leading enterprise network engineering or network operations teams in large-scale production environments.
• Strong technical depth across enterprise networking technologies, operational engineering, automation, and network reliability practices.
• Ability to engage deeply in technical troubleshooting, operational escalation management, network reviews, and engineering decision-making.
• Proven experience leading technically strong engineering teams within enterprise-scale production environments.
• Strong balance of technical credibility, operational discipline, and people leadership.
• Demonstrated success building an engineering culture centered around accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, load balancing, and network security concepts.
• Experience managing complex incident response, operational governance, and major incident management processes.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, observability, and network management platforms.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting practices within network operations environments.
• Demonstrated interest in AI-assisted operational engineering practices and automation-driven infrastructure operations.
• Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, highly collaborative enterprise environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of enterprise network engineering or network operations experience.
• 4+ years of technical leadership and people management experience leading network engineering or operations teams.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and wireless technologies.
• Experience with enterprise network monitoring, configuration management, and operational tooling.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting practices within network operations environments.
• Strong understanding of incident management, change management, and operational governance processes.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise production environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
• Experience supporting retail, eCommerce, store network infrastructure, or other large-scale customer-facing enterprise environments preferred.
• Experience supporting highly seasonal or peak-event operational environments is a plus.
