We're looking for an energetic and experienced Manager to lead our Training Institute based in Derrimut, and play a pivotal role in developing apprentice technicians, trainers, and future industry talent. This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise, leadership capability and passion for training to make a lasting impact on people, performance and business growth.
You'll be the driving force behind apprentice development, technical capability and future talent pipelines across the business. One day you might be coaching an apprentice through a challenging repair, the next designing innovative training programs, partnering with senior leaders on workforce capability, or leading a team of technical trainers to deliver exceptional learning experiences.

What You'll Be Doing
Developing future talent
Oversee apprentice and trainee development programs
Conduct competency assessments and six-monthly reviews
Monitor apprentice progress, attendance and training outcomes
Liaise with RTOs and external training providers
Support apprentices throughout their development journey
Delivering high-quality training
Design, coordinate and deliver engaging technical and procedural training programs
Facilitate onboarding and induction programs for new employees
Identify capability gaps and implement training solutions
Evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
Leading and inspiring your team
Provide leadership, coaching and support to the Training Department
Manage a small team of Technical Trainers
Drive team performance, engagement and development
Conduct performance reviews and support career growth
Planning & business improvement
Coordinate training schedules across the business
Maintain apprentice records and compliance requirements
Monitor outcomes and recommend improvements
Support the business in developing a strong pipeline of future talent
About You
You're an experienced automotive professional who genuinely enjoys helping others succeed. You're equally comfortable on the workshop floor, in front of a training room, or working with leaders to solve capability challenges.
To be successful, you'll bring:
Essential
Demonstrated leadership experience
Automotive Trade Qualification
Experience within the automotive, transport or heavy vehicle industry
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
Current Driver's Licence
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to translate technical information into practical learning
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable
Previous experience in a training, learning or development environment
Knowledge of Dealer Management Systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
