BSI services OEM's, aftermarket, and end users across the globe. We are seeking to hire a Manual Lathe Apprentice to join us in machining metal parts such as steel, bronze, aluminum and babbitt. This type of manufacturing requires quick set-ups, precision execution, and attention to detail for success.
Manual Lathe Job Apprentice Responsibilities:
- Load and unload parts in and out of machine using overhead crane system when needed.
- Install tool holders and indicate parts.
- Verify first-run part(s) for acceptance.
- Inspect and change cutting inserts as needed.
- Measure work pieces for conformance to specification using measuring instruments such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gage pins.
- Adjust machine speeds and feeds settings as needed for optimal performance.
- Responsible for keeping work area safe, clean and organized.
