Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking experienced Manual Machinists for full-time, onsite opportunities in Indianapolis, Indiana. These positions are specifically for skilled manual machinists with strong hands-on experience operating manual mills and/or lathes. This is not a CNC-focused opportunity.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manual Machinist will operate a variety of traditional machining equipment to produce, repair, and finish metal components according to blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and specified tolerances. The ideal candidate is comfortable independently setting up and operating manual equipment, performing precision measurements, and completing machining operations in a production or shop environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
• Perform turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, and grinding operations
• Perform dynamic balancing as required
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Machine and assemble components according to required dimensions and tolerances
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other gauges
• Verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the machining process
• Make machine setup adjustments using traditional gauge-based methods
• Operate welding equipment as required, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-Acetylene
• Perform metal spray processes as needed
• Document measurements, calculations, and completed work according to company standards
• Troubleshoot machining and mechanical issues in both standard and non-standard situations
• Maintain safe equipment-operation and shop practices
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members

AVAILABLE SHIFTS

• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Two Openings Per Shift

IMPORTANT

These openings require strong manual mill and/or manual lathe experience. CNC experience alone does not qualify. Candidates must already possess the hands-on manual machining skills necessary to operate and set up traditional manual equipment.
