Manual Test Engineer

We are looking for a Manual Test Engineer to join a QA team supporting critical enterprise applications. The role focuses on manual testing, backend validation, SQL-based data verification, and API testing, ensuring application quality through close collaboration with developers, analysts, and Product Owners in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute manual functional, integration and regression tests
• Perform backend and database focused testing
• Validate data flows, transformations and backend processing
• Write and execute SQL queries to verify data and investigate issues
• Test REST and SOAP APIs
• Analyse application logs and database records to identify defects and root causes
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, scenarios and reports
• Work closely with developers, analysts and Product Owners
• Track and manage defects using Jira or similar tools
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum and PI Planning
• Support continuous improvement of QA processes



Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience as a Manual Tester or QA Engineer
• Strong SQL knowledge, including complex queries, JOINs, subqueries and GROUP BY
• Experience testing backend or data driven applications
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL or MySQL
• Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs
• Ability to analyse business and technical requirements
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar QA tools
• Strong test documentation skills
• Good understanding of manual testing techniques and defect lifecycle
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
• Good English communication skills

• Basic experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Postman or Python
• CI/CD exposure
