Manufacturing Associate (Tube Mill)

Job Responsibilities:

Follow all safety rules and regulations

Follow and maintain all aspects of quality

Perform routine maintenance and tooling changes

Check and complete paperwork
Forming Operations:
-
Prepare coils for the mill
-
Load/unload the coil box
-
Position and make adjustments necessary for coils feeding into the mill
-
Use hand tools, gauges
-
Inspect material continually as it advances at each stop, ensuring it meets company standards and code requirements

Perform minor repairs, as well as maintenance and cleaning as required

Inspect tooling
Welding Operations:
-
Perform both manual and automatic adjustments
-
Weld coils together using the shear-end welder
-
Change the lens on the laser
-
Judge the quality of the weld with proficiency
-
Monitor laser parameters to meet specification
-
Perform necessary maintenance and inspection
Grinding/Polishing Operations:
-
Determine when belts need to be changed
-
Change belts as needed
-
Make adjustments to traverse speed
-
Recognize correct grain appearance
-
Monitor product to meet spec (no swirls, incorrect grain depth, dirt, etc.)
Cutting Operations:
-
Determine when blades need to be changed and how to change them
-
Program required cut lengths to meet order criteria

Monitor quality and precision of the cut

Make adjustments as needed
Deburring Operations:
-
Set up Burrmaster for desired length
-
Maintain and replace parts as needed to meet quality spec
Auto-Unload Operations:
-
Set up robot to pick desired length and perform basic robot repairs
-
Maintain a basic understanding of robotic operations
-
Troubleshoot and identify potential problems in production
Material Handling Operations:
-
Operate forklift (license required)
-
Run automatic tiller
-
Stack and pull finished product carts
Additional Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision, perform the complete operation and train or direct others:

Program orders into AMS Computer
-
Complete start-of-shift turn on and end-of-day shutdown
-
Complete weekly PMs and basic maintenance
-
Set up for specific outside diameter size (entire mill setup); measure OD and verify quality
-
Monitor cutoff lengths/pieces
-
Load raw stainless steel coils for processing through the mill
-
Record quality data (to be determined)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), vocational school diploma or equivalent in education.
- 1+ years metal shop experience.
Schedule: Employee would be required to work an alternate shift (1:30 -Midnight, Mon - Thurs.) for two weeks out of the month unless interested in alternate shift full time; day shift is 6 am- 2:30pm, Mon- Friday. Shift differential applied to the alternate shift.
