Position summary Responsible for release and/or refine bill of materials, workflow processes (routing/workstation steps), labour estimate and implement LEAN improvements for Bay Advanced Technologies, a fluid power company.

Position responsibilities:

· Break down customer’s documentation package. Organize and enter bill of materials into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for quoting and estimation.

· A team member for design inputs and manufacturability of products and systems.

· Be comfortable with all phases of product lifecycle including design, implementation and re-working of product.

· Create manufacturing instructions, test procedures and packaging specifications for all systems to ensure compliance with customer specification requirements.

· Work with outside onboard vendors, sales department, engineering staff and customers to resolve manufacturability and design issues.

· Ensure Documentation Control of files for all system folders and drawings issued to the production floor and ensure they are within company protocol.

· Manage New Production Introduction (NPI)Departments jobs, scheduling and materials status and issuance.

· Produce detailed, carefully planned manufacturing work instructions as time permit.

· Initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECO)due to design, manufacturing method or process changes.

· Generate Excel spreadsheets or custom reports for cost analysis of systems including material and labour estimates.

· Perform other duties as required

Role qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact well with people. Must be detailed oriented and have good organizational skills.

· Strong organization, problem solving, and analytical skills.

· A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential skills and experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline.

· Knowledge of engineering practices, procedures, and manufacturing processes.

· Basic understanding of automation, fluid power, electrical, electronic and electronic control systems.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.

· A self-starter able to work independently and resolve technical manufacturing issues.

· Proficiency with some of the following applications: Autocad, Solidworks, eDrawings and other 3D CAD software.

· Strong computer skills with knowledge of Office365 applications including Outlook, Chrome,Edge, One Drive, and Excel.
