GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineer for The Technology House/Sea Air Space (TTH/SAS) will interact with all areas of the company to meet customer expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet customer expectation in the areas of CAD engineering/3D modeling, mechanical design, plastic part design, reverse engineering, design for manufacturing, process validation and product development
- Improve operational efficiencies and process development
- Write work instructions as necessary
- Help define and translate customer requirements for the shop floor
- Design and build fixtures for manufacturing
- Train workers as necessary
- Assist with manufacturing floor layout
- Work with Project Management and the end customer
- Interpret drawings and customer requirements
- Maintain proper quality reports
- Perform first article inspections
- Program and set up CMM if applicable
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more CAD software programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of plastic part design
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing
- Knowledge in DFMA
- Knowledge of company capabilities
- Knowledge of company quality management system
- Ability to read and create 2D drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated proficiency in Pro Engineer and/or SolidWorks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with plastic manufacturing processes including blow molding, extruding, and roto-molding
