Position Overview
The Manufacturing Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial planning and analysis activities for OTS Manufacturing Operations. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and Operations Leadership to provide financial analysis, operational insight, and decision support that improve business performance.
A key focus of this position is developing a thorough understanding of manufacturing operations and the financial drivers that impact margin, inventory, productivity, and operational performance. The Financial Analyst will utilize analytical tools to support forecasting, budgeting, operational analysis, inventory management, and business decision-making while ensuring financial information is accurate, actionable, and effectively communicated throughout the organization.
This position will report to the Assistant Manufacturing Controller.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow to strengthen financial analysis and business recommendations.
- Conduct forecast vs. actual variance analysis, bridging from forecast to actuals with rationale.
- Support operational initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytical tools supporting Manufacturing Operations.
- Audit financial reports, dashboards, and KPI reporting to ensure consistency with ERP data and financial reporting.
- Investigate data discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to resolve reporting issues.
- Participate in ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Build collaborative relationships across Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and Operations.
- Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Translate financial data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
- Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values.
