Manufacturing Process Engineer
JOB PURPOSE |
Establish rigid and consistent manufacturing processes with a focus on cost control; train, mentor, and develop associates and promote a positive culture throughout the facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Develop new robust manufacturing processes and improve existing processes through techniques that support quality improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions, and other actions aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added work. Responsible for development and preparation of process improvements and accountable for leading instruction, facilitating team decisions, assisting with implementation, and sustainment.
- Establish systems for data collection and analysis. Utilize that data to drive continuous improvement activities within all manufacturing departments.
- Increase manufacturing capability both by utilizing existing equipment and through the selective acquisition of new complementary capabilities.
- Lead proactive production/quality improvement within the facility to ensure the seamless launch of new product. Manage documentation associated with process design changes.
- Support the transition of product design and development for new or existing products from engineering designs to manufacturing. Support and assist internal development projects to ensure a smooth transition into full production.
- Provide technical assistance to all operating departments.
- Analyze quality data and drive problem resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS |
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology or Relevant Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited University.
- Minimum of 5 years machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use CAD/CAM Software such as MasterCAM, Inventor, Solidworks, ect.
- High problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Solid working knowledge of inspection equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM, Optical Comparator, ect.
- Ability to use basic computer programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with metal machining, molding, and assembly processes.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Strong ability to work independently towards set objectives/goals.
- Strong communicational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical office environment including heavy PC and phone usage. Work is also performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment; working with chemicals, working in or near a range while range is active and handling both manual and automated equipment and systems. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend or holiday hours. Overtime may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, twisting, bending, seeing, stooping, balancing, hearing, as well as handing paperwork and heavy PC computer usage Team members will be lifting objects from floor to waist up to 50 pounds.
