Manufacturing / Process Engineer – Laser & Turret Programming
FabMax is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing / Process Engineer with direct experience programming laser and/or turret equipment in a precision sheet metal fabrication environment.
This role will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations to support day-to-day manufacturing, improve processes, troubleshoot production issues, and help ensure jobs are set up for efficient and successful production.
The ideal candidate has practical experience programming fabrication equipment and understands how engineering decisions impact the shop floor. Experience with Amada turret programming and Mitsubishi laser programming is preferred, but candidates with hands-on programming experience using other laser or turret systems are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Program and support CNC laser and turret equipment
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for precision sheet metal components and assemblies
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements
- Support production with troubleshooting, manufacturability, and process-related issues
- Develop and maintain manufacturing routings, work instructions, and process documentation
- Support new product introduction and production readiness
- Work with operators and supervisors to improve setups, throughput, material utilization, and overall efficiency
- Assist with forming, welding, assembly, and related fabrication processes
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, setup time, rework, and production delays
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, and customers as needed
- Support continuous improvement and implementation of new equipment, software, and manufacturing technology
