Starting Salary: $70,000/year, with higher compensation available based on experience
Position Overview
Seeking a hands-on Safety Specialist to help maintain safe operations in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. This position works directly with employees and supervisors to identify hazards, improve safety practices, support compliance, and strengthen the workplace safety culture.
Responsibilities
Safety & Floor Support
- Maintain a regular presence throughout production and fabrication areas.
- Observe work activities and identify hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices.
- Encourage employee involvement and a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and workplace observations.
- Document findings and track corrective actions through completion.
- Identify safety improvement opportunities.
- Support adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with new-hire safety orientation and onboarding.
- Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training.
- Provide practical safety guidance to employees and supervisors.
- Communicate safety expectations and recommended practices across the workforce.
- Assist with injury, incident, and near-miss reporting.
- Participate in investigations and root cause analysis.
- Help develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up on corrective actions to verify completion and effectiveness.
- Maintain safety records, training files, inspection documentation, and related records.
- Assist with regulatory and internal compliance documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safety programs and processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in safety, EHS, risk management, manufacturing, or an industrial environment preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build productive working relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
- ASP, CSP, or related professional certification preferred.
