Position Summary
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved. This role drives Lean manufacturing principles, leads Kaizen (continuous improvement) events, and ensures adherence to standardized work and quality systems. The supervisor is accountable for team performance, process discipline, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a zero incident safety culture through daily audits and behavior based observations
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Production & Delivery
- Execute daily production plans to meet schedule attainment and fill rate targets
- Monitor labor efficiency, downtime, and throughput to meet KPI targets
- Coordinate staffing and resources to ensure balanced production flow
Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen
- Lead and support Kaizen events (Quality Circles) focused on waste reduction and process improvement
- Drive implementation of Lean tools: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Flow, and Pull Systems
Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, control plans, and work instructions
- Lead root cause analysis using DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone methodologies
- Reduce defects, rework, and scrap through proactive process control
People Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and develop team leads and operators
- Conduct daily Gemba walks and Tier meetings
- Drive accountability through performance management and training plans
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Track and report KPIs: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale (SQDCM)
- Maintain visual management boards and action trackers
- Support cross functional initiatives with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering
