Manufacturing Systems Engineer
- Develop and optimize manufacturing automation and control systems to improve operational efficiency, process reliability, and equipment performance.
- Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, data acquisition, and industrial network systems throughout manufacturing and heat-treat operations.
- Improve process visibility and decision-making through reliable manufacturing data collection, reporting, and system integration.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and implement effective technical solutions.
- Ensure manufacturing systems are properly tested, documented, supported, and continuously improved.
- Design, develop, maintain, and support SCADA systems for industrial manufacturing applications.
- Program, troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC-based control systems.
- Create and maintain HMI screens that provide clear and intuitive operator interfaces.
- Develop and maintain SQL databases used for process monitoring, data storage, and reporting.
- Configure and support industrial communication networks utilizing TCP/IP architecture.
- Develop data acquisition solutions, process charts, and reports for heat-treat and other manufacturing operations.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and startup activities for new and existing automation systems.
- Troubleshoot controls, automation, network, and communication issues within production environments.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams on automation projects and system improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, system architecture drawings, and operating procedures.
- Provide technical training and support to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Track project activities and complete follow-up actions related to automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting SCADA systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control system support.
- Experience developing and maintaining HMI applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and database management.
- Understanding of industrial networking concepts and TCP/IP communication protocols.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and industrial reporting tools.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information and maintain clear system documentation.
