Marine & HSE Manager (WSH) (Marine & Logistics)

Responsibilities:

Marine HSE & Incident Management

  • Lead the HSE function and manage marine-related safety, security, injuries, accidents and operational incidents.
  • Lead investigations, prepare detailed reports, recommend corrective measures and ensure timely closure.
  • Conduct regular vessel visits, shipboard meetings and drills, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Advise Masters on marine HSE and navigational matters.
  • Assume the DPA (Designated Person Ashore) role.

Vessel Compliance & Surveys

  • Ensure vessels comply with Class, Flag State and applicable maritime requirements.
  • Coordinate and attend SIRE inspections, Class and Flag State surveys, including preparation and follow-up.
  • Monitor vessel compliance and address inspection findings.

Vessel Operations, Maintenance& Procurement

  • Conduct regular ship inspections to monitor deck and engine conditions.
  • Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with deck department requisitions, vessel consumables, receiving, packing and delivery arrangements.
  • Prepare vessel condition and attendance reports and recommend improvements.

Crew Management & Training

  • Ensure proper assignment of deck officers and ratings in compliance with manning requirements.
  • Conduct recruitment interviews and make recommendations on recruitment, promotion, disciplinary matters, performance and rejoining.
  • Oversee crew welfare matters including leave, salary, medical and certification.
  • Identify training requirements and conduct induction training for new crew.
  • Establish training programmes and monitor the performance and competency of Masters, Chief Officers and deck officers.

Emergency & Fleet Support

  • Participate as part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Perform other fleet management duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Relevant Maritime, Marine Engineering, HSE or WSH qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant marine / fleet management / HSE experience
  • Strong experience in Marine HSE
  • MPA Class 1 and Work at Height (Manager) certification
  • Good knowledge of maritime regulations and safety requirements
