The Marine Insurance Manager will lead the management of marine insurance policies and claims for the fleet, ensuring optimal risk mitigation and cost efficiency. The role involves liaising with insurance providers, assessing marine insurance needs, handling claims processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Marine Insurance Manager will work closely with operations, legal, and finance teams to protect the company’s assets and manage insurance-related matters effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all marine insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and timely renewals.
- Coordinate and handle insurance claims, working with underwriters, surveyors, and legal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct risk assessments and advise on insurance-related risk management strategies.
- Develop and implement insurance policies and procedures aligned with company objectives and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance contracts, claims, and correspondence.
- Monitor changes in marine insurance regulations and market trends, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure all operations comply with insurance terms and conditions.
- Negotiate insurance premiums and terms with brokers and insurers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine insurance management, preferably within the shipping or maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of marine insurance policies, claims handling, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant insurance and risk management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
