Marine Permitting and Logistics Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Permitting and Logistics Manager to support our marine operations, including cable ships and cable laying barge. This role is critical in ensuring smooth coordination of submarine cable repair and installation activities, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Operations Support
- Support cable ships in the execution of submarine cable repair operations, ensuring operational readiness and compliance.
- Liaise closely with cable owners and vessel Masters to coordinate cable repair activities.
- Issue sailing orders and oversee mobilization for commencement of repair operations.
- Submit commencement and completion reports to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
- Secure all required operational permits and ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
- Ensure vessels are fully certified and prepared for deployment in repair operations.
- Manage and monitor appointed shipping agents to ensure efficient and timely support.
- Evaluate and select suitable agents and suppliers based on operational performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Compile, track, and analyze data related to cable repair operations, permitting status, and cost performance.
- Provide insights and reports to support operational planning and decision-making.
- Raise Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) for marine operational requirements.
- Coordinate crew changes, ensuring compliance with immigration requirements.
- Assist the Head of Marine Operations in the preparation and monitoring of Deck Department operating budgets.
Deputy Company Security Officer
- Support the Company Security Officer in ensuring full compliance with the ISPS Code across all vessels and barges.
- Coordinate and oversee vessel and barge security arrangements, including audits, drills, and implementation of security procedures.
- Monitor, review, and disseminate security advisories and updates issued by maritime authorities.
- Ensure all security-related training and awareness programmes are effectively conducted for both vessel crew and shore-based personnel.
Cable Installation Projects
- Provide operational and logistical support to project teams involved in cable installation projects.
Emergency Response
- Act as a member of the Company’s Emergency Response Team.
Others
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Marine Permitting and Logistics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in marine operations, offshore logistics, or cable ship operations.
- Strong knowledge of marine permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and port clearance procedures.
- Familiarity with cable repair and installation operations will be an advantage.
- Understanding of ISPS Code and maritime security requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, cost tracking, and vendor management.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes (PR/PO) and invoice verification.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with stakeholders, including vessel crew, agents, and authorities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operations simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to be on standby for operational or emergency support when required.
