You’ll deliver marketing automation strategies that drive customer revenue, increase registered users, and deepen loyal engagement across our platforms.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, executing and optimising automated user journeys, personalisation and campaigns that drive registrations, engagement and reader revenue
- Leading the marketing automation rollout and owning our marketing technology platforms, including Braze and Piano, so their capabilities are fully used
- Designing and maintaining the orchestration layer that connects our platforms, data signals and AI tools into end-to-end agentic workflows
- Owning how we govern AI in marketing: where automation runs independently, where human judgement stays in the loop, and how we protect quality and brand standards
- Mapping the customer journey with Product and Audience Development to find pain points and opportunities, and running a conversion rate optimisation programme across all touchpoints
- Acting as the main link between product and marketing, and working closely with Product, Editorial and Commercial to set clear requirements and deliver business KPIs
- Managing budgets, making the case for investment in new tools, and supporting our pricing, yield and advertising revenue goals
- Leading and motivating a team that loves what it does every day
What you'll bring
- Proven experience leading marketing automation, CRM or growth marketing, ideally in digital media, subscriptions or another consumer business
- Expert, hands-on knowledge of marketing automation and analytics platforms (experience with Braze and/or Piano is a strong advantage)
- Practical experience with, or a strong grasp of, AI-driven and agentic marketing workflows, plus the structure and rigour to govern them responsibly
- A builder’s mindset: you test new tools and approaches yourself and drive ideas rather than waiting to be asked
- A strong track record in conversion rate optimisation, customer journey mapping and data-led decision-making
- Experience managing budgets and building business cases for technology investment
- Excellent stakeholder skills, including the ability to explain technical capability in clear business terms to Product, Editorial and Commercial teams
