Job Overview:

This internship provides hands-on experience in photography and photo editing within NEC’s Marketing and Communications team. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Content Strategy & Production, the Photography & Photo Editing Intern will support the creation of high-quality visual content for marketing and communication initiatives across digital and print platforms.


Through close collaboration and one-on-one guidance, the intern will develop technical skills in photography, editing, color correction, and asset management while contributing to real-world projects. The role offers valuable experience working in a professional creative environment and the opportunity to produce portfolio-ready photographic work used across NEC’s official channels.


Essential Functions:

  • Assists the Multimedia Producer and Marketing & Communications team in capturing high-quality photography for marketing, communications, and archival use.
  • Photographs concerts, rehearsals, events, portraits, and campus life for NEC’s website, social media, and promotional materials.
  • Edits and retouches photos using industry-standard software
  • Organizes, captions, and manages photo assets within NEC’s digital asset management systems.
  • Organizes and maintains equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The position is compensated at $15.00 per hour with a desired start date of 10/2/2026.



Hours and Availability:

  • This role requires work primarily on the NEC campus, but some remote work may be possible.
  • Photography assignments will include evenings and weekends (e.g., concert and event coverage).
  • The schedule is flexible and designed to accommodate the student’s academic commitments.


Qualifications:

We’re seeking a curious, detail-oriented, and creative student who is excited to grow as a photographer. The following skills and experiences are helpful but not required—we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification:

  • Experience with digital photography
  • Basic knowledge of photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in color correction, exposure, and visual consistency
  • Ability to manage and organize large volumes of photo files
  • A strong visual eye and interest in visual storytelling

Additional Information:

All students must complete payroll paperwork (W-4, I-9, etc.) in the Human Resources Office AND submit a CORI form through the Human Resources office before beginning work for any Prep department.
