Marketing Communications Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator develops and executes integrated communications, marketing, digital media, and community engagement strategies that strengthen Kodiak Community Health Center (KCHC) internally and externally. The position serves as a central resource for organizational communications, brand management, media relations, digital and social media content, community outreach, and strategic partnerships. The Coordinator creates timely, engaging, and accessible content; strengthens communication with employees, patients, partners, and the broader Kodiak community; builds alliances that advance KCHC’s mission and visibility; and uses data and community feedback to improve communications and marketing efforts. The role works closely with the CEO, leadership team, providers, staff, and community partners to ensure KCHC is visible, connected, responsive, and consistently represented across all communication channels.

- Develop, implement, and maintain an integrated communications, marketing, and community engagement strategy aligned with KCHC’s mission, strategic priorities, services, and growth goals.
- Serve as a central coordinator for internal communications, helping ensure employees receive timely, clear, and consistent information regarding organizational priorities, initiatives, events, accomplishments, operational updates, and other important matters.
- Create and manage internal communication materials and channels, including staff announcements, newsletters, leadership messages, presentations, signage, campaigns, and other employee-facing communications.
- Develop, write, edit, and proofread external communications, including press releases, community announcements, newsletters, patient-facing materials, website content, public education materials, executive communications, and talking points.
- Develop and maintain KCHC’s brand voice, visual identity, and messaging standards to ensure a consistent, professional, recognizable, and community-centered presence across all communication channels.
- Develop and execute a strategic social media and digital content plan across appropriate platforms, with a focus on increasing KCHC’s visibility, engagement, community awareness, and connection with current and prospective patients.
- Create, film, edit, and publish engaging short-form videos, staff and provider features, health education content, behind-the-scenes content, community stories, photography, graphics, and other digital media that presents KCHC in a current, approachable, and professional manner.
- Maintain a proactive content calendar and regularly identify creative communication opportunities rather than relying solely on requests from departments or leadership.
- Work directly with providers, employees, and leadership to identify stories, accomplishments, programs, services, and personalities that can be highlighted internally and externally.
- Manage and regularly update KCHC’s website and other public-facing digital platforms, including provider information, services, events, news, patient resources, and organizational information.
- Develop targeted marketing campaigns to increase awareness and utilization of KCHC services, promote providers and programs, communicate access opportunities, and support organizational growth and patient engagement.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with community organizations, schools, employers, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, healthcare partners, government and civic organizations, and other stakeholders whose work aligns with KCHC’s mission.
- Proactively identify opportunities for joint initiatives, cross-promotion, community education, referral relationships, outreach activities, sponsorships, events, and other collaborative efforts that expand KCHC’s reach and strengthen its role in the Kodiak community.
- Coordinate KCHC’s participation in community events, health fairs, outreach activities, presentations, and public-facing initiatives, and represent KCHC professionally when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local media; coordinate media inquiries, interviews, press releases, public announcements, and other earned-media opportunities in collaboration with the CEO and leadership.
- Support the CEO and leadership team with executive communications, presentations, speeches, talking points, organizational announcements, and communications related to significant initiatives or changes.
- Coordinate crisis and sensitive communications by helping develop timely, accurate, consistent, and appropriate messaging in collaboration with the CEO and other designated leaders.

- Monitor KCHC’s online presence and reputation, including social media engagement, public comments, reviews, and other digital feedback, and coordinate appropriate responses in accordance with organizational policies.
- Track, analyze, and report communication and marketing performance using relevant measures such as audience reach, engagement, follower growth, video performance, website activity, campaign results, community participation, partnership activity, and other indicators established by leadership.
- Use performance data, community feedback, and emerging communication trends to recommend improvements and new approaches that strengthen KCHC’s internal communication, public presence, and community engagement.
- Ensure all communications, photography, video, testimonials, and public-facing content comply with HIPAA, patient privacy requirements, applicable consent requirements, KCHC policies, and organizational standards.
