Marketing & Communications Manager

The Marketing & Communications team is how Catalyx tells its story to the market. We build the narrative, create the content, run the channels, and turn complex technology into stories that resonate with customers, partners, and investors.

We're looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager who is a builder with strong strategic instincts. You'll own the marketing function, build the systems and processes behind it, lead a team of content creators, and scale as the business grows.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked in an early-stage startup environment, is comfortable creating structure where little exists, and can move between strategy and execution quickly. You'll work directly with the COO and founders to connect marketing to Catalyx's commercial, GTM, and fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Run the Marketing Function:

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns from brief through launch and measurement across our website, newsletter, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and other relevant channels.

  • Build the processes, tools, and calendars needed to run marketing effectively as Catalyx grows.

  • Own timelines, budgets, and stakeholder buy in to ensure campaigns launch on schedule and to a high standard.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a team of content creators, setting priorities, KPIs, and a clear operating rhythm that scales with the company.

  • Manage workload, feedback, and growth so the team produces impactful work on a regular cadence.

  • Coordinate with external agencies, freelancers, and contractors when additional expertise or capacity is needed.

Strategy & Commercial Impact:

  • Shape marketing strategy and tie it to commercial and GTM goals.

  • Support live deals and fundraising with compelling narratives, presentations, and customer- and investor-facing collateral.

  • Hold a clear point of view on positioning and messaging for a deep-tech company and ensure all external comms align accordingly.

Technical Storytelling:

  • Translate complex work across re-entry, thermal protection, and hypersonic defense into clear, credible stories for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Partner with founders and engineering to get the substance right and produce stories that capture attention.

  • Maintain a clear and consistent Catalyx voice across every internal and external touchpoint.

Measurement & Optimisation:

  • Define clear objectives and KPIs for campaigns and channels.

  • Track performance, communicate results to leadership, and use insights to improve future activity.

  • Own and continuously improve the marketing stack and reporting infrastructure.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5–6 years of marketing or communications experience, ideally within an early-stage or VC-backed startup.

  • Experience building or significantly developing a marketing function, rather than only operating within an established marketing organisation.

  • Proven ownership of campaigns from strategy through execution, with examples of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • Experience managing and developing a team, setting priorities, and holding people accountable for delivery.

  • Strong hands-on content writing and editing skills, with a knack for making technical subjects clear and compelling.

  • High-ownership of execution and the operational discipline to set up processes, calendars and KPIs and keep them running like clockwork.

  • Confidence working with and presenting to senior stakeholders, including founders, investors, and customers.

  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and external partners.

  • Comfortable working across marketing, content, analytics, and project management tools.

  • A strong appetite for technical subject matter and the curiosity to go deep.

  • Exposure to deep tech, hardware, defense, or aerospace is a plus.

  • A design eye or hands-on ability working with content and analytics tools is a plus.

  • 100% on-site role at our facility in Ahmedabad; must be based in Ahmedabad or willing to relocate.

Why Join Us:

  • Own the marketing function of a space-tech company and build it from the ground up.

  • Work directly with the COO and founders across strategy, story, and go-to-market.

  • Tell stories few companies can: hardware built to survive the most extreme parts of spaceflight.

Build something that matters — the next frontier won't wait.
