What We’re Looking For:
• A clear, engaging writer and editor who can tailor messages for employees, physicians, leaders and department partners.
• A collaborative, organized communicator who can manage multiple channels, priorities and time-sensitive requests with sound judgment.
• Prior public relations, communications, community relations, marketing or media experience is preferred; two years of experience in a healthcare marketing setting is also preferred.
• An undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be substituted.
• Knowledge of appropriate computer programs and applications is required. No certification or licensure is required.

What You Will Do:
Plan and implement communications that keep Baton Rouge General employees and physicians informed, engaged and connected to organizational priorities.
• Develop and execute internal communications across employee and physician communication channels.
• Write, edit and distribute the weekly employee newsletter and other recurring communications.
• Create and maintain Hub/intranet content, including news stories, announcements, updates and employee resources.
• Manage content for the employee Facebook page and other internal social channels.
• Develop email communications, digital signage, flyers, talking points, FAQs and other supporting materials.
• Partner with departments and organizational leaders to plan communications for initiatives, operational changes, events and other employee or physician updates.
• Advise partners on audience, timing, channel and messaging; review department-generated communications for clarity, accuracy, tone and consistency.
• Coordinate major announcements, campaigns, events and recurring communications through an internal communications calendar.
• Monitor the Communications/Marketing inbox, internal social channels and employee feedback; route questions and escalate emerging issues as appropriate.
• Keep internal communication platforms current, track engagement and recommend improvements to reach and effectiveness.
• Support employee events, leadership meetings, recognition activities, public relations, photography, interviews and story development.
• Provide communications support for urgent operational updates and emergency communications.
• Maintain communication templates, editorial standards and best practices while protecting confidential and sensitive information.
• Build relationships across the organization, stay informed about key priorities and identify proactive communication opportunities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
