Marketing Data Analyst
Summary
Marketing Data Analyst embedded in Samsung's central Corporate Marketing department (via contracting). Day to day you analyze PR, social buzz, GEO, media and campaign KPIs, build Power BI dashboards, use SQL to combine data from web, social, CRM and PR sources, and turn findings into actionable insights and data storytelling for stakeholders.
Marketing
Data Analyst
Are you
passionate about turning marketing data into insights that actually influence
decisions? As our Marketing Data Analyst, you will connect marketing
performance with consumer response and help Samsung understand what is
happening across PR, Social Buzz, GEO and our wider marketing activities.
How you
make a difference
As our
Marketing Data Analyst, you are responsible for analyzing and reporting on key
marketing and campaign KPIs within Samsung’s central Corporate Marketing
department.
Your main
focus will be on PR, Social Buzz, GEO and overarching marketing performance.
You bring together data from different sources and channels to create a clear
view of how our marketing activities perform and, more importantly, how
consumers respond to them.
You work
closely with marketing specialists and other stakeholders on a project basis.
During major campaigns and flagship launches, for example, you help determine
Samsung’s position on strategic topics such as AI, analyze online conversations
and media coverage, and translate these findings into actionable
recommendations.
You are the
bridge between marketing and data. Your work does not stop at creating reports.
You identify what the numbers mean, explain why performance changes and provide
insights that help improve future marketing activities.
Key
Responsibilities
• Analyze
and report on PR, Social Buzz, GEO, media, social and search KPIs.
• Build and
maintain clear and scalable dashboards and reports in Power BI.
• Use SQL
to retrieve, combine and analyze marketing data from different sources.
• Monitor
how Samsung and relevant topics are represented across media and online
conversations.
• Analyze
consumer response to marketing campaigns, flagship launches and other key
marketing activities.
• Connect
data across channels, including web, digital and social media, CRM and PR, to
create an overarching view of marketing performance.
• Translate
complex datasets into comprehensive and actionable insights for marketing
stakeholders and management.
• Create
strong data visualizations and use data-driven storytelling to support
marketing strategy and decision-making.
• Develop
reporting solutions that can be efficiently repeated and scaled across
different campaigns and projects.
• Work
within Samsung’s global data environment while translating global data into
relevant insights for the local organization.
Your
team
As our
Marketing Data Analyst, you will join a specialized team of four professionals
within Corporate Marketing. The team combines market research and marketing
data analytics expertise, with each team member owning a distinct area of
responsibility.
In this
role, your primary focus will be PR, Social Buzz, GEO and overarching marketing
data. While you collaborate closely with marketing stakeholders and your direct
colleagues, you will have significant ownership of your own projects and
analyses.
What makes
this team stand out is its ability to turn complex marketing data into clear
reporting and insights that have a direct impact on what Samsung can do next.
Because the team operates with a relatively small group of specialists, being
able to work independently, switch quickly between priorities and create
scalable solutions is essential.
What are
your assets
As our new
Marketing Data Analyst, you combine strong analytical capabilities with a
commercial and marketing mindset. You are interested not only in what the data
shows, but also in why it matters and what Samsung should do with that
information.
You are
comfortable owning projects independently and know how to navigate different
stakeholders in a complex international organization. You can move quickly
between different topics and datasets without losing sight of the bigger
picture.
You know
how to translate analysis into a clear story for stakeholders who may not have
a technical background. Experience with Social Buzz or GEO is valuable, but not
essential. What matters most is that you have a strong analytical foundation
and are eager to develop your expertise across different marketing disciplines.
We also
request:
A completed
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Analytics, Marketing, Business Administration,
Statistics, Econometrics, Business Economics, Data Science or a related field,
or equivalent HBO work and thinking level combined with relevant work
experience.
2 to 3
years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst, Marketing Data Analyst or in a
similar analytical role.
Experience
with data visualization and reporting tools, preferably Power BI.
Experience
working with SQL for data analysis.
Strong
capabilities in descriptive and diagnostic analytics.
Experience
translating data into actionable business or marketing insights.
Experience
with web analytics, SEO, Social Buzz or social conversation tracking is
considered an advantage.
Knowledge
of Python, predictive analytics or prescriptive analytics is considered a plus.
Strong
communication, presentation, project management and stakeholder management
skills.
The ability
to work independently and take ownership of your own projects and deliverables.
A good
command of the English language at a professional level. Dutch is a plus.
Skilled in
using MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
