Marketing & Distribution Associate, Live in HD

The Marketing & Distribution Associate for The Met: Live in HD is responsible for coordinating all marketing efforts surrounding the Met’s series of cinema transmissions, as well as supporting the Met’s in-house theatrical distribution efforts. The ideal candidate is poised, resourceful, and an innovative thinker capable of conceiving, developing, and implementing bold new ideas. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a passion for the mission of The Met: Live in HD.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing and Promotions

  • Serve as the point person between all Live in HD stakeholders (internal staff, external partners globally) to ensure consistent quality of communication and information sharing
  • Brief internal design team and oversee the creation of all in-house collateral (marketing decks, emails, posters, cast sheets, etc.) as well as Live in HD-specific projects for external partners, ensuring all projects are met on deadline
  • Project manage the delivery of all Live in HD assets and information to global theater partners on a timely basis
  • Spearhead the nationwide Live in HD Ambassador Program, including implementing grassroots ideas, ways to collect audience data, recruitment, and management of Ambassadors
  • Proof materials created by theater partners and coordinate relevant internal approvals
  • Alongside the Director, Marketing Campaigns, plan, implement, and conceive marketing campaigns and activities in key markets to support Live in HD

Operational Management and Distribution Support

  • Conduct initial vetting and respond to new venue inquiries
  • Update and maintain series sales deck for new venues
  • Assist with onboarding new venues, including answering initial setup questions and guiding partners through early participation steps
  • Assist with updating the AirTable database, including theater records, venue contact information, and participation status, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and consistently maintained
  • Ensure all participating theaters are tracked in the database and reflected accurately on the Met website Theater Finder, updating records promptly as venue participation changes to support reliable internal reporting and public-facing information
  • Secure and coordinate Live in HD tickets for various purposes including global sponsors and Ambassadors

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Arts Administration, Communications or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience, preferably in performing arts or cultural institutions
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with a range of people both in person and by writing/phone
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently

Physical Demands

  • Required to work on all HD transmission Saturdays
  • Additional nights and other weekend events as necessary
  • This position requires a minimum in-office presence of four (4) days per week.
