Marketing Events Manager
Our mission
The trucking and logistics industry provides the backbone of the economy. But the payments infrastructure on which it runs is broken. For the hard-working men and women of this sector, the existing suite of payment tools is outdated, difficult to use, prone to fraud, and saddled with shady fee structures. The incumbent players in this space often overlook the economic and practical needs of this user base.
We're changing that. AtoB is building Stripe for Transportation — modernizing the payments infrastructure for trucking and logistics. Supply chains rely on the timely movement of capital to function efficiently. Our end game is a world in which that capital movement occurs fairly, smoothly, and without delay. As we pursue that end game, we aim to center our customers in every way — offering them world-class customer experience and building products that work with and around the unique constraints of their daily lives. We build for fleet managers in the office and drivers on the road. We strive for products that are efficient, satisfying, and useful. Our customers enable our modern economy — they deserve it.
Our history and background
Our founding team has backgrounds in payments, working on autonomous vehicles at Cruise Automation, leading ops and growth for Uber, and building apps that were featured on the Apple app store. We have staff and senior engineers from Google, Uber, Meta, Shopify, Stripe, Chime, and other leading technology companies.
We have raised $125 million+ from investors such as General Catalyst, Elad Gil, Bloomberg Beta, Y Combinator, XYZ; founders and CEOs of companies such as Google (Eric Schmidt), Salesforce (Marc Benioff), Coinbase (Brian Armstrong), DoorDash (Tony Xu), Instacart, Gusto; strategic investors like Mastercard, Flexport and Samsara.
We were named to Forbes annual Next Billion-Dollar Startup List, and have just recently been selected to join the World Economic Forum as a Global Innovator.
About the Role
Events are how AtoB shows up in the trucking, fleet, and fuel industry – from the biggest trade show floors to intimate dinners with our most important partners. Our events program spans 50+ candidate events a year across five audience segments (carriers & fleets, factoring, fuel merchants, brokerages, and partners), a $1M+ annual budget, and everything from Tier 1 conference sponsorships to AtoB-hosted experiences.
As Events Marketing Manager, you'll own this program end-to-end: the annual calendar, sponsorship strategy, flawless on-the-ground execution, and the white-glove hospitality experiences that make partners and customers remember us. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. One week you're negotiating an exhibitor package for a national trade show; the next you're building a full VIP weekend itinerary – invitations, room blocks, transportation, tee times, private dinners – for a group of C-level partners. You'll work directly with our executive team and our most strategic partners, and you'll have the autonomy (and the budget) to build a best-in-class events function.
What You'll Do
Own the annual industry events calendar end-to-end. Build and manage a portfolio of 25–30 attended events per year selected from 50+ candidates -- trade shows, conferences, and association events across our audience segments (e.g., NACS Show, MATS, Manifest, IFA Annual Factoring Conference, TIA Capital Ideas, AMBEST Annual Meeting, ATA MCE, Money 20/20, Geotab Connect) -- from attend/skip decisions through booth logistics, staffing, and post-event follow-up.
Own sponsorship strategy and negotiation. Manage our event tiering framework (Tier 1–3 sponsorships and partner-proxy presence); assess exhibitor packages, sponsorship levels, association memberships, and corporate partnership opportunities; negotiate terms and make budget-backed recommendations on where AtoB should invest.
Design and run VIP hospitality programs. Build high-touch experiences for executive partners and top customers -- curated weekends, marquee moments at national events like Superbowl, FIFA, golf outings, and private dinners -- owning every detail: invitations, guest communications, hotel blocks, ground transportation, itineraries, and on-site coordination.
Produce AtoB-hosted events. Source venues, manage caterers and event vendors, and run private dinners, receptions, and city experiences around major industry moments.
Own budgets, vendors, and contracts. Manage a $1M+ annual events budget with per-event spend tracking; handle vendor selection, invoicing, payment schedules, and AP coordination; maintain the events calendar and spend database as the single source of truth.
Coordinate executives and cross-functional teams. Manage exec and founder attendance (often 5–10 AtoB attendees per major show), speaking opportunities, event travel coordination, and partner meetings; align sales, partnerships, and marketing on event goals and follow-through; write pre-event conference briefs.
Drive pipeline from events. Own pre-event outreach along with Partnerships team, on-site lead capture, and post-event follow-up; measure and report event ROI and iterate on the portfolio year over year.
Collaborate with partners on co-marketed events. Work with strategic partners (fleet telematics, fuel networks, factoring, freight platforms) on shared event presence and joint activations.
