Marketing Manager, 19:21 Consultants

19:21 is hiring its first in-house marketing person: someone who will own our brand, social presence, website and client-facing design, and build the marketing department from the ground up.

The role at a glance

Title

Marketing Specialist

Location

Light hybrid: New Braunfels, TX office, with one or two work-from-home days a week

Schedule

Full-time

Licensing

Texas Life, Accident, Health & HMO license within 60–90 days of hire, sponsored by 19:21

About 19:21 and why this role exists

19:21 Consultants Co. is a locally owned employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm based in New Braunfels, Texas. We serve employers across Texas, most with 50 to 500 employees, and benefits is the only thing we do. Our name comes from Proverbs 19:21: “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

What sets us apart is how we show up for clients: real relationships, a hard fight against renewal increases, proactive compliance, plain-language employee education, and open enrollments we run start to finish. Clients reach a real person on a local number, not a ticket system.

Until now, an outside marketing firm handled our core marketing: building the brand, managing LinkedIn and the website, and producing graphic design work. That firm has closed its doors, and 19:21 is ready for its next step: bringing marketing in-house.

You would be our first marketing hire. There is no department, playbook or blueprint waiting for you. There is a strong brand, a growing firm, a team that values good work, and a lot of room to build something that is yours.

What you’ll do

The large majority of your time will be marketing, across four pillars. A smaller share will be helping our clients and their employees directly.

1. Social media

  • Own 19:21’s LinkedIn presence: content calendar, posting, engagement, and growing our audience among employers and HR leaders.
  • Support our team’s personal LinkedIn presence so producers and leaders show up consistently.
  • Explore and recommend other platforms where we can better engage clients and the employees on their plans, then launch the ones that make sense.
  • Track what is working and report on it.

2. Website management

  • Own our website day to day: content updates, team pages, news, and making sure it reflects who we are.
  • Lead the website revamp planned for 2027, from planning and content through launch, working with leadership and any outside vendors.
  • Keep the site connected to our sales process so visitors turn into conversations.

3. Graphic design

  • Design custom pieces for clients, which we produce often: benefit guides, open enrollment materials, employee flyers and handouts.
  • Create sales and presentation materials for our producers.
  • Protect and apply the 19:21 brand across everything we put out, and build a library of templates the team can use.

4. Sales and marketing enablement

  • Build and run email drip campaigns in HubSpot for prospects, clients and referral partners.
  • Find ways to connect HubSpot with the other tools we use so marketing and sales work from the same information.
  • Partner with our producers and business development team on campaigns, collateral and follow-up.

Client and open enrollment support

We believe everyone at 19:21 should know insurance well. From time to time, we will ask you to step in at open enrollments and talk with clients and their employees about their benefits. This role needs some flexibility for those moments, and your license (below) prepares you for them.

Tools you’ll use

You’ll work with a modern, lean stack, and we’re open to your recommendations as the department grows.

Who we’re looking for

Above all, we need a self-starter: someone who sees what needs to be built, builds it, and keeps getting better without waiting for a roadmap. We’ll hire at the Associate level (about 1–3 years of experience) or the Specialist level (about 3–6 years), depending on the person.

What you bring

  • 1+ years of hands-on marketing experience, in-house or at an agency.
  • Experience running a company LinkedIn page or other business social accounts.
  • Design skills in Canva and/or Adobe, with a portfolio you can show us.
  • Experience updating and managing a website through a content management system.
  • Clear, confident writing that sounds human, not corporate.
  • The organization to juggle several projects and deadlines without being chased.
  • Comfort talking with people face to face, including at open enrollment meetings.
  • Willingness to earn your insurance license within 60–90 days.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.

What would set you apart

  • Marketing experience in insurance, employee benefits, financial services or B2B professional services.
  • HubSpot experience or certification, especially email automation.
  • Experience on a website redesign or launch.
  • Photo or short-form video skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience using AI tools to plan, write and produce work.

Insurance licensing

You’ll earn your Texas Life, Accident, Health & HMO agent license within 60–90 days of your start date, and 19:21 sponsors the process. You don’t need insurance experience to apply.

We’re big believers in everyone here knowing insurance backwards and forwards. For you, that means marketing a product you actually understand, writing content our clients can trust, and being ready to help employees at open enrollment when we need an extra set of hands.

What success looks like

In your first year, you’ll take marketing from outsourced to owned, and lead the website revamp.

  1. First 90 days: get your feet under you.
    • Earn your Texas Life, Accident, Health & HMO license.
    • Take full ownership of our brand files, logins and assets from the outside firm.
    • Organize everything we already have (and we have a lot) into one place the team can find.
    • Get a consistent, weekly LinkedIn posting rhythm running.
    • Learn our clients, services and sales process by sitting in on client meetings and open enrollments.
  2. First 6 months: take action.
    • Launch at least two HubSpot drip campaigns: one nurturing prospects and one for current clients or referral partners.
    • Produce revenue-generating sales material our producers use in meetings, such as a refreshed capabilities piece and one-pagers on how we fight renewal increases and run enrollment.
    • Build a template library from our existing assets: benefit guides, open enrollment flyers, employee handouts and proposal pages.
    • Deliver a plan for the 2027 website revamp covering scope, site structure, budget, vendors and timeline.
    • Recommend the next direction for 19:21’s brand and marketing, including where outside partners or contractors could help and which social platforms to add.
  3. First year: launch and lead.
    • Launch the new website.
    • Run a marketing calendar the whole firm can see, planned at least a quarter ahead.
    • Report monthly on what is working, such as LinkedIn growth, email results and website inquiries.
    • Help shape what the marketing department becomes next.

What we offer

  • The rare chance to build a department from day one, with a direct line to firm leadership.
  • A defined career path: Associate, Specialist, Senior and Executive levels, with clear expectations for each step.
  • A sponsored insurance license and real industry knowledge that goes with you.
  • A light hybrid schedule with one or two work-from-home days a week.
  • A locally owned team that takes care of its clients and of each other.
  • A full range of employer-sponsored benefits.
