Marketing manager-Hotel
Job summary:
To generate and
develop new business opportunities and increase net income for the Hotel in
line with the Hotel Strategic and Business Plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work closely with line managers to develop growth strategies and plans for the
different services and products.
· Ensure customer enquiries are converted into confirmed sales, develop future
and repeat business strategies to boost sales and revenue.
· Follow leads and scan media adverts, prepare proposals, obtain and bid for new
clients.
· Improve and deliver the brand standards of outstanding customer service whilst
ensuring a clear and effective line of communication is maintained within the
sales team and with the operational teams (Rooms Division and F&B
Departments).
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities both by use of the company
database, networking, B2B opportunities, exhibitions and client entertainment.
· Work closely with F&B and Rooms Division Departments to develop and
implement sales marketing campaigns and client entertainment.
· Carryout market research and conduct industry benchmarks to determine success
factors, growth opportunities and prepare projections for management’s decision
making.
· Establish and maintain positive links with potential partners and stakeholders,
target referrals and solicit for business for the Hotel.
· Develop, up-date and maintain an annual calendar of events, liaise with the
respective line managers to plan/schedule and implement sales campaigns and
entertainment events.
· Manage the performance and development of the Revenue and Business Development
team.
· Work with management to prepare and review Hotel business plan and other
operations jobs
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the disciplines of
Marketing, Business Administration, Economics or Finance from an accredited
University.
· Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines or a post graduate diploma in
Tourism & Hotel Management and/or a post graduate qualification in
Marketing e.g CIMA is an added advantage.
· At least 4 years of progressive relevant experience in a busy environment, 2 of
which should have been in the hospitality industry.
· Proven track record of success in a sales and marketing role.
• Must be able
to expertly train, motivate and manage a team.
· Strategic planning and implementation skills. E-commerce working knowledge or
social media marketing Knowledge of Hotel Products and Services. Ability to
take initiative and work under highly demanding environment.
• A solid
understanding of hotel management systems, price and positioning strategies.
• Excellent knowledge of uses/applications of Front
Office, and Reservations Systems.
• Capability of setting clear objectives for business
development, quality, customer satisfaction and energetically leading and
organizing the team to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
• Capability for developing effective promotions.
• Ability to conform to the Hotel’s brand standards
and corporate identity.
