Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager provides visionary leadership for A New Leaf’s communications, marketing, and public relations efforts. This position ensures marketing strategies are data-driven, inclusive, and aligned with the agency’s mission, while fostering collaboration across departments to achieve measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy tailored to key audiences (e.g., donors, clients), with clear timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Lead a cohesive, multi-platform communications approach—including digital (website, email, social media, video, photography) and traditional (print, phone, direct mail)—with continuous performance evaluation and refinement.
Collaborate with the Development leadership team to design and execute marketing campaigns that support major gifts, planned giving, private grants, in-kind donations, and volunteer initiatives.
Drive strategy and performance of the Annual Fund, focusing on donor retention, new donor acquisition, and lapsed donor re-engagement.
Leverage Raiser’s Edge to strengthen donor communications and engagement, while evaluating new tools and technologies for enhanced communication and project management.
Lead the execution of A New Leaf’s brand and content strategy, ensuring alignment in quality, tone, and message across all platforms.
Oversee the design, production, and distribution of key communications materials, including the annual report, brochures, donor content, fact sheets, email campaigns, and print ads.
Analyze key marketing and communications performance metrics (KPIs); use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve audience engagement.
Manage digital presence, including SEO, online listings, and reputation management, to optimize search visibility and drive web traffic.
Champion a culture of customer service, ensuring high-quality, consistent experiences for donors, clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, offering insights on brand positioning, marketing trends, and growth opportunities.
Stay informed about internal programs and services to ensure effective marketing alignment and support across the organization.
Oversee all public relations efforts—including media outreach, press release distribution, interviews, and multimedia coverage.
Act as the primary media contact or coordinate media engagement with appropriate internal experts.
Manage the award and recognition nomination process, identifying and submitting opportunities for visibility through business, civic, and industry recognition.
Support legislative and advocacy-related communications in partnership with leadership.
Train and equip staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to effectively represent the organization’s brand and impact in public settings.
Supervise daily operations of the marketing and communications department.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for departmental staff.
Administer performance management, including coaching, disciplinary action, and terminations in alignment with company policies.
Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
Develop and manage the department’s annual operating budget for marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
Establish and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality services and responsible budget use.
Grow and engage the marketing committee to support strategic initiatives and enhance effectiveness.
Streamline internal workflows for marketing requests, campaign fulfillment, and in-kind donation tracking; explore and implement new technologies to increase efficiency.
Supervise and support assigned volunteers and interns, fostering growth and engagement.
Serve as an active contributor to the Development Team and represent A New Leaf in community settings as needed.
Uphold the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights in all professional conduct.
Use a personal vehicle as needed for business-related travel.
Be available to work evenings or weekends as organizational needs require

Qualifications:
Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field required
Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

Minimum of five years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
In-depth knowledge of market trends and developments
Strong understanding of marketing strategies and best practices
Proven leadership and supervisory abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge database management software

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-based work with travel to client homes, meetings, and site visits.
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. for materials or office supplies.
Exposure to typical office equipment, such as computers, phones, and printers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and case
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client and team interactions
