Marketing Manager
Marketing Manager
Urbanex Pest Control
Location: Nashville or Knoxville TN high preferred
Reports to: CFO
Compensation: dependant upon experience
The role
Urbanex is looking for a marketing manager to turn channel activity into measurable customer growth across our local markets. You will coordinate outside specialists, set priorities with branch and sales leaders, manage the marketing calendar and budget, and make sure completed work improves customer acquisition.
You should be comfortable getting into the details of Google Ads, Local Services Ads, organic search, Google Business Profiles, website conversion, and lead follow-up. You do not need to build every tracking integration or perform every technical SEO fix yourself. You do need to know how to evaluate the work, catch gaps, and turn findings into decisions.
What you'll own
- Marketing plan and execution: Build a prioritized plan by market and channel, with clear owners, deadlines, budgets, and expected outcomes.
- Specialist and vendor management: Direct the tracking and SEO work already underway. Review recommendations, resolve dependencies, verify implementation, and hold partners accountable for results.
- Local search and reputation: Oversee Google Business Profiles, local listings, reviews, local content, and market specific SEO work. Coordinate with branches to obtain accurate service information, photos, and customer proof.
- Paid acquisition: Manage Google Ads and Local Services Ads performance, including budgets, lead quality, search terms, landing pages, lead statuses, and opportunities to recover charges for invalid leads.
- Lead conversion: Work with inside sales and branch leaders to identify where leads are lost between inquiry, contact, signed agreement, and initial service. Help fix handoff and response problems.
- Measurement and reporting: Maintain a weekly scorecard by market and channel covering spend, qualified leads, signed agreements, completed initial services, acquisition cost, and incremental first-year contract revenue. Keep website organic, local profile, and paid results distinct.
- Budget decisions: Recommend where to increase, reduce, or test spending based on customer outcomes and branch needs-not lead volume alone.
What success looks like
Within the first 90 days, you will have a reliable marketing operating rhythm: a market by market plan, an agreed scorecard, a reviewed vendor backlog, and clear owners for lead and review follow-up. Leadership should be able to see which efforts are producing customers, where conversion is breaking down, and what you recommend doing next.
Over time, success means more new customers who complete their initial service, productive upsells, stronger local visibility, and acquisition costs that make sense against incremental first-year contract revenue. You will also help leadership understand how those gains compare with cancellations in each branch.
What we're looking for
- At least five years of experience managing performance marketing, preferably for a multi-location service business.
- Working knowledge of local SEO, Google Business Profiles, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, GA4, Search Console, and conversion tracking.
- Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or specialist partners and translating their work into a practical execution plan.
- Strong analytical judgment: you can question attribution, distinguish leads from customers, and explain results clearly without overstating them.
- Ability to work with sales and operations leaders, manage competing branch priorities, and follow projects through to completion.
- Clear writing, strong organization, and the willingness to inspect the details yourself.
